Jury is still out.
I set mine 200 series up for push to open. The instructions are not great on the set up and I couldnโt find any video information on the MIghty Mule web site or YouTube. If you kind of interpolate what instructions you do have you can get through the install portion. The actual programming of the opener controls are incomplete. The printed version that comes with the opener only gives you part of it. Then you go to the web site and find other instructions that never actually indicate that you also need to perform before the openers will work but while i waited for 45 minutes on hold with their tech support that never actually answered I continued to play with the programming and figured it out. Mighty Mule is all about how their system is for the do it yourselfers, well my experience is they mean do it yourself and just figure it out. The openers have been installed for a week now and are working fine but ill update if something changes.

Good gate opener for the price.
If you are installing this on a wood gate then you would need a minimum of other hardware but an iron gate requires some work and fabrication. Also the installation manual does not match precisely for this opener. Wiring diagrams are labeled correctly but the photos donโt match this unit. You have to be close for the button.transmitter to work but our carโs onboard transmitter seems to be stronger. The gate is slow to open but I am sure that is for safety. The battery operation is great in case of an electrical outage and I installed a solar charger instead of having to install a power outlet.

MIGHTY MULE HAS NOT BACKED THEIR GATE SYSTEMS 2 TIMES IN THE PAST 4 MONTHS!
I PURCHASED 2 MM272 GATE SYSTEMS FROM MIGHTY MULE. THE FIRST SYSTEM WORKED LIKE IT SHOULD EXCEPT FOR THE GATE WOULD START BEEPING LOUD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WAKING MY CUSTOMER AND NEIGHBORS. MY CUSTOMER HAD TO TURN THE SYSTEM OFF BEFORE GOING TO BED EACH NIGHT DUE TO THE FACT MIGHTY MULES TECHNICAL SUPPORT WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. I KNOW THAT THE SYSTEM WAS OVERCHARGING THE BATTERY AND AFTER INSTALLING 2 NEW BATTERIES, AND 1 THAT I TOOK OUT OF MY PERSONAL GATE SYSTEM THAT WAS HAVING NO PROBLEMS, THEY ALL 3 WERE OVERCHARGING. BEFORE INSTALLING THE SURFACE VOLTS WAS 12.4V-12.6 AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS IN THE MM272 MIGHTY MULE GATE SYSTEM THE SURFACE VOLTS WAS 14.7V-15.4V. TECHNICAL SUPPORT HAD ME DRIVE TO THE CUSTOMERS HOME NUMEROUS TIMES TO TROUBLESHOOT. TWICE THEY SAID MY BATTERY WAS BAD. ANOTHER TIME THEY SAID I HAD AN OUTDATED EXIT SENSOR AND I NEEDED TO REPLACE IT. THEY EVEN ASKED ME TO DIG IT UP OUT OF THE GROUND TO SEE IF IT WOULD STOP THE SYSTEM FROM BEEPING AT NIGHT. WHY WOULD I DO THAT? I DISCONNECTED IT FROM THE CIRCUIT BOARD TO SEE IF PERHAPS IT WAS THE EXIT SENSOR CAUSING THE PROBLEM. THE GATE CONTINUED BEEPING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT ONLY WHEN THE GATE WAS NOT BEING USED. IT NEVER BEEPED NOT ONE TIME ANYTIME DURING THE DAY WHEN THE GATE WAS USED. I DID EVERYTHING THAT THEY ASKED ME TO DO (EXCEPT FOR DIGGING UP THE EXIT SENSOR) MANY TRIPS TO TROUBLESHOOT, PURCHASED 2 NEW BATTERIES, SENT PICTURES OF THE INSTALLATION, WHAT A INCONVENIENCE TO MYSELF AND TO MY CUSTOMER FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS UNTIL THEY SAID THEY WOULD WARRANTY IT. THEY SAID IT WOULD TAKE AROUND 7 DAYS AND I ASKED IF i HAD TO PAY SHIPPING TO RETURN THE DEFECTIVE SYSTEM AND THEY SAID NO DO NOT SHIP IT BACK. AFTER 2 WEEKS I HAD NOT RECEIVED THE REPLACEMENT AND WHEN I CALLED MIGHTY MULE TO SEE WHY THEY TOLD ME IT WAS ON BACK ORDER. I IMMEDIATELY LOOKED TO SEE IF I WAS TO PURCHASE THE SAME SYSTEM HOW LONG WOULD IT TAKE. I COULD GET ONE IN 3 DAYS IF I WAS A NEW CUSTOMER BUYING A SYSTEM. JUST ANOTHER BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE FROM THIS COMPANY. I CALLED BUT THIS TIME I DID NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH TECHNICAL SUPPORT I SPOKE WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION. THEY SAID THEY WOULD LOOK INTO IT AND GET BACK WITH ME. I RECEIVED A EMAIL SAYING THAT MY REPLACEMENT WAS SHIPPED AND IT SHOULD BE HERE WITHIN 7 MORE DAYS. 6 DAYS LATER I RECEIVED ONLY A CIRCUIT BOARD. NOW THE WHOLE TIME I THOUGHT THAT SINCE TECHNICAL SUPPORT COULD NOT GIVE ME ANY REASON WHY I WAS HAVING THIS PROBLEM AND AFTER ALL THE INCONVENIENCE THAT THEY WOULD SHIP A WHOLE NEW SYSTEM. I INSTALLED THE NEW CIRCUIT BOARD AND THE SYSTEM DID THE EXACT SAME THING. MY CUSTOMER HAD ALREADY BEEN INCONVENIENCED ENOUGH SO AS MUCH AS I DID NOT WANT TO PURCHASE ANOTHER MM272 SYSTEM I DID ANYWAY BECAUSE I HAD MIGHTY MULE ACCESSORIES AND THEY ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH OTHER GATE MANUFACTURES AND THE EXPENSE WAS COMING OUT OF MY POCKET BECAUSE I BELIEVE IN TAKING CARE OF MY CUSTOMER EVEN IF IT COST ME. I RECEIVE THE NEW GATE SYSTEM IN 5 DAYS (FREE SHIPPING FROM AMAZON) INSTALL THE GATE THE NEXT DAY AND USED THE SAME MOUNTING BRACKETS, ACCESSORIES, AND BATTERY AND SET THE CLOSED LIMITS AND OPERATED THE GATE TO MAKE CERTAIN EVERYTHNG WAS WORKING. ALL WAS FINE. TWO MONTHS OF NO PROBLEMS FROM THE SYSTEM AND I CALLED THE CUSTOMER SEVERAL TIMES JUST TO FOLLOW UP MAKING SURE ALL WAS GOOD. I GET A PHONE CALL FROM THE CUSTOMER TELLING ME THAT ONE SIDE WAS ACTING UP COULD I COME CHECK IT OUT. THE NEXT DAY I ARRIVE AND WHEN I OPERATED THE SYSTEM I COULD HEAR THE MOTOR RUNNING IN ONE OPERATOR ARM BUT NO MOVEMENT OF THE ARM. I IMMEDIATELY DETERMINE THAT THERE IS A INTERNAL ISSUE WITH THAT ARM AND CONTACT TECHNICAL SUPPORT. I EXPLAINED WHAT I FOUND AND THE TROUBLESHOOTING BEGINS. NOW I HAVE TO DO WHAT THEY SAY BECAUSE I WANT TO MAKE SURE I CAN HAVE THIS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY BUT I ALREADY KNEW THERE WAS A PROBLEM INSIDE THAT ARM. WE TROUBLESHOOT EVERYTHING NOT RELATED TO THE PROBLEM AT HAND. EVERYTHING WAS CHECKING OUT GOOD ON ALL THE TROUBLESHOOTING. WE CHECKED BATTERY VOLTAGE (WITH IT INSTALLED), TRANSFORMER VOLTAGE, BATTERY VOLTAGE (NOT INSTALLED), VOLTAGE ON THE CIRCUIT BOARD WITH TRANSFORMER INSTALLED, BATTERY VOLTAGE ON THE CIRCUIT BOARD WITH TRANSFORMER NOT INSTALLED, WIRING TO MAKE CERTAIN EVERYTHING WAS IN THE RIGHT PLACE AND WIRING TO MAKE SURE ALL WERE TIGHT AT CONNECTIONS. WE REMOVED THE POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE WIRES FROM THE ARM THAT WAS WORKING AND CONNECTED THOSE DIRECTLY TO THE BATTERY TO BYPASS THE BOARD AND IT WORKED. THEN WE TOOK THE POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE WIRES OFF THE ARM THAT WAS NOT WORKING AND CONNECTED THOSE STRAIGHT TO THE BATTERY AND THE MOTOR WOULD RUN BUT NO MOVEMENT IN THE ARM. I DO NOT WORK FOR MIGHTY MULE BUT WHY GO THROUGH 1 HOUR OF TROUBLESHOOTING THE PROBLEM WHEN IT WAS EVIDENT WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS? WELL NOW THAT TECHNICAL SUPPORT KNOWS THE PROLEM IS SOMETHING INTERNAL IN THAT ARM THEY REQUEST PICTURES OF THE COMPLETE INSTALLATION. THE SYSTEM IS INSTALLED EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE FIRST SYSTEM THAT THEY DID NOT WARRANTY AND THEY ALSO REQUESTED PICTURES THEN AND HAD NO ISSUES WITH THE INSTALLATION. AFTER RECEIVING THE PICTURES AND STILL ON THE PHONE GOING ON 2 HOURS THEY TELL THAT THEY WILL NOT WARRANTY IT BECAUSE THE INSTALLATION OF THE ARM DOES NOT HAVE 2" OF CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE ARM AND THE GATE AND SEND ME A PICTURE OF A GENERIC ARM AND SHOWING A MINIMUM OF 2" CLEARANCE. I COME BACK TO THE OFFICE AND GET MY INSTRUCTION MANUAL OUT AND IT SHOWS IN MY MANUAL THERE NEEDS TO BE 1" OF CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE ARM AND GATE WHICH I HAVE OVER A INCH ON BOTH ARMS. I REQUESTED A CALL BACK FROM A SUPERVISOR AND GAVE THREE DIFFERENT DAYS AND TIMES THEY COULD CALL ME BACK AND WAS TOLD I WOULD RECEIVE A EMAIL INFORMING WHICH DAY AND TIME I WOULD RECEIVE THE CALL. THAT WAS YESTERDAY MAY 21, 2022 AND I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A EMAIL FROM THEM. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER PRODUCT FROM THIS COMPANY EVER AGAIN. I HAVE PURCHASED AND INSTALLED MANY GTO AND MIGHTY MULE GATE SYSTEMS AS WELL AS ABOUT 6 OTHER MANUFACTURES AND HAVE NEVER HAD SUCH ISSUES OR EVER HAD A COMPANY THAT DID NOT WARRANTY THEIR PRODUCT. I WILL USE THE ARM FROM THE FIRST SYSTEM THEY DID NOT WARRANTY AND INSTALL IT EXACTLY LIKE THE ONE I AM TAKING OFF AND LETS SEE HOW LONG THIS ONE WILL LAST. I WILL UPDATE IN ABOUT 6 MONTHS OR SOONER IF ANY PROBLEMS ARISE. Works as described
This is a dual gate opener. Therefore i had to run wire under the existing concrete driveway to connect the two openers. This is not an easy process. I would also prefer the gate to open faster. However now that i have the openers installed they work as they should opening and closing the gates.

Works Great
Most jobs like this are a little harder and take a little longer than expected. I didn't know I would have to buy"push to open" arms. Then, I was expecting a pair for $20. only got one and had to order another. I alsobought an extra remote, the little black one, it didn't work. I called Mighty Mule who set me up with a freereplacement.When finally said it done, it is working just fine. This is my second Mighty Mule and the first one gave meyears of trouble free service.

Horrible product, Do not buy
This product continued to break due to faulty equipment as per a gate installer in our area. We had to have the circuit board replaced 6 times and then they said they could not honor our warranty anymore. In the 18mths we had it and attempted to use it, it only worked for maybe 6 of those months. No money was refunded and help is no longer offered by the company. Do not buy

Works great!
With the right tools and an extra set of hands to help this is an easy DIY project. The only difficulty I had was in programming the remote opener on each of my 3 vehicles, but the problem is not with Mighty Mule - I had to refer to each vehicle's manual and the procedure was different for each vehicle. My only complaint (minor) is that the range for the remote opener is not very long - I have to be within about 30-40 feet for the gate to open.I live in a region of Canada where the winter temperature can get to -25C so I hooked this gate opener to a 25 watt solar panel. I currently have a standard battery on it but I will be upgrading the battery to an AGM (deep cycle) before the winter. Curious as to how this will do in winter.

How to return the product
Looking to find out how to return this product, tried it & found it was not a strong enough gate opener, I spoke with Mighty Mule & they said to order the bigger one through Amazon & then return the previous one back, can not seem to find a return label.
