Using for bird feeding to keep out squirrels
Bought this crate to keep blackbirds, grackles, groundhogs, and the local squirrels from hogging the oilers and peanuts. Within 30 minutes the tufted titmice, chickadees, nuthatches, and various sparrow species had figured it out. They are busy flitting in and out grabbing the seeds and nuts. The bar spaces on this crate are perfect size for smaller birds. Eastern Bluebirds and Carolina Wrens are also able to enter the crate. The Blue Jays, Red-bellied Woodpeckers and Mourning Doves can't enter, but there's plenty for them at the other feeders. They are larger and can muscle in with the squirrels and blackbirds. Crate was super easy to set up. No tools required, anyone can do this. Just slide it out of the box and start lifting the panels. You'll see that the main sides fold up into a rectangle. The ends then are folded up and snapped into place. Door has top and bottom latches. More than adequate to prevent squirrels from figuring out how to open the crate door. And if they do, a wire or carabineer will secure it easily. It took longer to carry the packaged crate 100 feet to the patio than to set it up. Seems well built for our purpose. Cannot attest to dog, cat, bunny, etc pet use. We have an AC cover to keep the snow/ ice off the crate (we live in upper Great Lakes). We don't expect the crate to last forever as we are leaving it outside. It looks like it will still last several years outdoors, especially if we cover it. Curious raccoons may investigate so we'll be sure to empty the pan before dark. Fortunately, no Black Bears in our area. We really like that the pan is convenient to slide in and out and it is made of a resin material. Very sturdy. We are impressed so far with the crate. For the price, it's a good buy and helpful addition to our bird feeding hobby.

Very Sturdy Kennel for Small Dogs
Very sturdy and simple to put together. No tools required for assembly. Basically unfolds and clips into place. Be careful not to pinch your fingers though on the last panel. We have a larger wooden crate for our puppy but I was looking for something smaller to provide a safe place for him to sleep as he trains and to provide a safe place for him to stay in the kitchen while Iโm cooking. It is lightweight enough that I can just pick it up and move it room to room without collapsing the kennel. Arrived in excellent condition and has a great door latch that is stable and secure. This size is perfect for a 24 inch padded crate mat for him to rest on. I donโt like to just leave the uncomfortable plastic tray as his space to lay but it is easy to remove and clean when needed. The divider that comes with it might work for smaller breeds but would make the space too small for my puppyโs needs. Itโs a great size for the car if needed as well.

No more guilt!!
I hated putting my Great Dane in her crate. She was crate trained since a pup, so she was fine. It was ok for her size, but I hated that she couldnโt fully stand up or stretch out. I searched and read reviews on larger options. This one had great reviews and looked large enough to meet my requirements. It arrived quickly and immediately I was super impressed with the quality. So much better than most. The crate is made of thick, tough metal. It might be tough enough to crate a Malinois! Definitely strong enough for my 145 lb Great Dane. Set-up was really easy and didnโt require a bunch of tools. I would highly recommend looking at the pictures and labeling the pieces before getting started. It makes it easier, you donโt have to keep referring to the pictures. Once it was up, we tried it out. I was overjoyed - seriously! It was SO big!! Bigger than I expected-it was perfect! She has so much room- she actually can horse jump onto her back legs a little. She can spread paws out comfortably. I couldnโt be happier. Honestly, look no further- you could not find a larger, better quality crate if you tried. Absolutely a fantastic value too -worth every penny. I am 100% guilt-free putting my girl in her โroomโ.

Great little carrier
I actually use this as a carrier for my chickens and it works great. Sturdy, easy to transport, and the size is perfect for short trips or temporary holding. Well made and does exactly what I need it to.

Good size for training.
Nice quality. Easy to set up. I have an 8-week-old puppy who needs a kennel in the bedroom at night. The size is just right. He won't fit when he's full-grown, but it works while training. It fits a 24x24 round bed with little room to spare, so the bed takes up the whole bottom of the kennel.

Handy
This dog crate is exactly what I needed for my puppy. It is sturdy, well-made, and feels secure without being heavy or bulky. The size is perfect, giving my puppy enough room to move comfortably..Assembly was quick and straightforward, and the door latch works smoothly and reliably. I also appreciate that it is move when needed. Overall, this crate has been a great purchase and a great price!

I was pleasantly surprised, very nice
I never used or liked creates, and have had dogs all my life, I'm 72 and old school,I just adopted a female Chihuahua rescue by police and turned over to the ASPCA,the previous owners where arrested for kicking her down the street,in her dog create trying to kill her, she was trouble girl with a lot baggage, and I thought for sure she would be petrified of the create, since her last owners kicked her down the street while she was locked inside, trying to kill her; but,she loved it and wanted in it before I finished assembling, it's incredible, Thank you, for she's a happy little girl again, and her brother Chihuahua who I also rescued, want to go inside also, ๐ lol,so it worth buying, easy assembling, and not ugly it looks nice in the living room.๐

Midwest ICrate 30โ: A Bargain & Sturdy for Transport/ Use
When we got our 2 American Eskimo Dogs from Eskie Rescue recently, our Rescue owner let us borrow her #2 24โ Aspen crates, which were fine for our new dogs to get them home. They were comfortable, and both dogs could lie down in them for their 2.5 hour journey home. Several days later, when I ran a search for the Aspens, they were expensive, even around the holidays, during which many items on sale. The reviews for the Midwest ICrate, however, caught my eye: the price for a 30โ crate was much cheaper than the 24โ Aspens AND they were on sale. ICrate is also an American company based in Muncie, IN, and it has been in business for over 90 years. Buying anything American is a boost for US workers and businesses. Even though these ICrates are manufactured in China, they are made with exacting US standards/ assurances and Quality Control 6-Sigma Lists, to ensure the best quality products. When I read the reviews of the ICrate, the price was great and so was the product. We bought 2 of them. Here are the specifications for the ICrate Model 1530: 30โ (L) X 19: (W) X 21โ (H); Weight: 18 lbs. This crate is made for breeds that weight 26-40 lbs. (Our Eskies weigh 23 and 25 lbs.) Even though a standard Eskie is listed for the next larger crate size, our Eskies fit in their 30โ crates comfortably even with their food dishes in them plus a small water dish. We also cover the bottom plastic tray with either a bulky blanket or a King-size sheet, scrunched up for adequate snuggling. The 30โ also fits onto our car back seat for transport. Even though there is only one door on this crate, it is adequate for our needs. 5 other things on the ICrate are noteworthy: 1. There is a divider panel, which can be used for a pup to gradually become an adult (and owners donโt have to buy interim crates along the way); 2. There is a handle; 3. There are 2 rollers (1 front and 1 back), to allow the entire crate to easily and smoothly be rolled on the floor without gouging or scraping the floor; 4. The crate comes in a satin-black electro-coat finish (the door seems to have a plastic-coated latch); and 5. The crates are easy to clean: we haul them out on our deck, spray them with a Tide-vinegar-water mix, and then hose them down. They dry fast after they are tipped against a railing post. Setting up the ICrate took very little time; we just watched the video, followed the instructions, and the crate was erected in no time. Our 25 lb. 4 year-old male Eskie now uses his ICrate as his main abode because the kennels that we have used for our other dogs, internationally, have 1 door whose latch is broken after years of use. Heโs entirely comfortable in his ICrate, and because it is positioned to see the entire kitchen and dining rooms areas, he can โmonitorโ to see when we are coming into the kitchen to see him! (We often catch our 5 year-old 23-lb. female going in his ICrate to check it out [even though she has her shipping kennel to go in.]) When our boy wants some voluntary โtime-outโ, he self-exiles, and we often find that he just gets in his ICrate and goes to sleep, especially after walks, play-time, and meals. When we want to shut out some noise and light, we place a blanket or King-size flat sheet on top of the crate and let it drape down over both sides and the front. One last comment: What is the determining factor for buying the ICrate? The most important point is whether our dogs like being in the ICrate or not: Our boy loves his ICrate (and our girl also loves HIS ICrate). From this, we think that other dogs will want one, too!
