High quality. Definitely a good purchase. but pricey
This pitcher is larger and is made from thicker steel than my Fellow pitcher. I appreciate the heft, and I suspect it helps when frothing milk and you are judging the temperature by the feel of the bottom of the pitcher. The larger size is good, even if you are only using it 1/3 full, to allow for frothing expansion, or making two milk drinks at once. So I am glad to have it. It is a bit expensive, but its Italian and made to last.

that includes famous barista Dritan Alsela whom from pictures & videos clearly shows this is one of his favorite pitchers when p
After trying it out for a short while (very short while):# The Bad- The shape of the pitcher is different, requires different way of frothing from what I am used to (so in the video, I frothed the milk using another pitcher instead).- The 17 oz pitcher is too small to properly froth sufficient milk for a standard 8 oz cup- The pitcher is stainless steel, pretty thick. Due to this and directly under aircon, I find if I am frothing using another pitcher, I need to put hot water into the Motta pitcher first to warm it up before pouring in any frothed milk, otherwise the shock will kill the froth- The pitcher feels bulkier, and a lot harder to handle due to the different design of the handle- Not for beginners# The Good- You get a higher quality Latte Art compared to other pitchers (of the same spout design)- Relatively easy to do larger/fatter designs- The thick steel retains the frothed milk for a longer duration (so long as it is not on a chiller or directly under the aircon)- Easier to cut the latte art with milk (& sharper cut), with an nicer finishing# Conclusion- For RM 4xx , I would consider this as a reasonable and low priced considering this is one of the top of the accessories out there used in world level competitions and contests- High snob appeal. Using this pitcher will ensure you look like a Master/Professional Barista# Tips- When tapping (knocking the pitcher on the table), it is highly advised not to knock the pitcher while holding the handle. Do knock the pitcher while holding the top of the pitcher instead. In Amazon reviews, there is a number of cases of broken handle complains.

Wonderful Quality - Makes great smooth microfroth
I am extremely impressed with this pitcher. I don't regret paying the extra bucks for this one at all. It is extremely heavy duty steel. I thought my last one was impressively thick and this one makes that one look thin and cheap. The spout is great, and I love the form of the base that makes it easy to gauge how much milk you are putting in. This is also extremely helpful for figuring out how much froth you have made and when it's time to start mixing it back in if making a latte. It is extremely easy to create the vortex. I just tilt the pitcher at a slight angle with the frothing wand at the edge and bam...vortex. The 25 oz version is easy to clean, and I have very large hands. I originally wasn't crazy about the hard angled handle and how it visually contrasts the smooth lines of the pitcher body, but it is perfect for holding it steady while trying to pour latte art. My latte art is still sad, but it is unquestionably my fault and not the pitchers.I would buy definitely buy this one again.

Size Matters: Depends on Your Purposes and/or Espresso Machines
I have a Rancilio Silvia v3, and I got to try both the 17 oz and 25 oz Motta pitchers. Let me first say they are both great products! Solid high grade, beautifully crafted stainless steel (as you can tell by the finish and the weight). The pronounced spout makes it easier to do latte arts (although I'm still such a beginner and need lots more practicing). But the 25 oz one just seem slightly too tall and too big for the Silvia (I did not put the Silvia on a base or anything). And it felt like there was not enough steam power when used with the 25 oz pitcher. So after going back and forth, I decided to stick with the 17 oz one.The 25 oz is great especially if you're making large size drinks--12 oz lattes, 2 cups of cappuccinos. And I would totally get the 25 oz Motta if and when I get to upgrade to a higher end espresso machine. But since I'm mainly making 6 oz cappuccinos and 8 oz lattes, I'll stick to the 17 oz ones. I just wish Motta would make a size that falls somewhere in between 17 oz and 25 oz!And yes, the price is quite expensive--it'll be nice to have them cheaper, but after a while, I've come to terms with the fact that some highly crafted beautiful objects do come with higher price tags (Apple, Eames, etc.).

Get the uncoated ones.
Great pitcher overall. Easy to use, solid heavy build, the only problem if the exterior coating/paint. After about a few months of daily use the black coating starts to peel off like vinyl paint. I’m going to have to start actively removing the paint around the mouth to make sure it doesn’t get into the milk that is being steamed. Note to self and others: the black looks nice at first but the uncoated ones may be better for the long haul. Especially considering the cost of one pitcher.

WOW!
WOW! I can't believe the difference. I just used this steaming pitcher for the first time and performed latte art with eas. The first thing I noticed was how heavy it is. This steaming pitcher is heavier than the Rattleware brand and I also think the metal is of a thicker gage. The added weight helps with controlling your pour. I find that the shape of the spout significantly improves your pour. The black coating of the Mota pitcher is perfect! I really doubt I'll have issues with it in the near future. This pitcher can hold up to 10oz of milk (just over the beginning of the spout). I bought this pitcher cause I was having a hard time managing the steam power of my Linea Mini with the other pitchers... not to say that it is impossible to pour latte art with other pitchers, but i found it easier to do with the Mota. It's beautiful and it matches the color of my machine!!!Thanks!#napohbariata

Pricey but nice.
Works so nicely for art. Much better than my other frothing pitchers.

Nice Aesthetics and Build Quality. Handle Crevice Invites Dirt and Residue
There's a crevice where the handle meets the main body that easily accumulates dust, debris, moisture, etc. Very overpriced for what it is, but decent enough build quality and excellent aesthetics.
