my favorite volleyball for indoor competition + ** TIP **
I am a volleyball addict and I play 2 to 3 times a week.I own about 10 different volleyballs for different occasions such as indoor recreation/competition, outdoor sand/grass, pool volleyball, volley tennis, and for coaching children. The texture of this volleyball is soft and feels amazing when setting, bumping, and spiking. It really differentiates and sets apart from SV-18S, which is Tachikara's lower end ball for recreational volleyball. On a side note, the ball came deflated and had a instruction sticker attached for how to pump air properly but I'm not sure how that instruction really helps and is different from how you would pump any other ball. Very confusing. (see picture)BOTTOM LINE:This is the best ball for serious, competitive indoor volleyball. 5 out of 5 stars!** UPDATED ON 11/19/2019 **I purchased another one in different color because I'm in love with this ball (2 more pictures added). As mentioned before, it has amazing feel to it on the surface and I feel like I play at a higher level with this ball!I highly recommend this ball without hesitation as the best indoor volleyball!!!** UPDATED ON 12/20/2019 **I love this ball so much so I ordered another one but on that ball, I heard some sort of rattle inside after inflating it during bumping so I returned it for an exchange (thanks for Amazon's easy return) but I recently noticed that the next ball that I received in exchange slowly loses air over couple of days. I don't want to go through the hassle of returning it again so I think I will keep this one as long as it can hold air for one day but I will need to inflate this one every few days. Both balls were brand new so I'm not sure why they have these problems but I'm guessing I got the bad batch. I'm still happy with this ball as I have 2 other balls that are perfectly fine and amazing. This is still the best indoor volleyball in my opinion.** TIP **Based on my recent experience, I suggest that you inflate the ball and let it sit for few days at home and maybe bump around without letting the ball hit the ground so that you can keep it in new condition in case you find defect like I did so you can return it for an exchange. Hope this helps.

Lost air on first day.
See update below:My daughter is a big volleyball buff, and really wanted this ball because her club uses these balls. UNFORTUNATELY, we succumbed to the same defective unit I had read in reviews that others experienced. The ball lost it's air on the first day. Along with the bladder quite audible inside. Returning item. Bummed.Review update:I was able to return the defective ball and received a new one. The new one inflated great and has not lost air. Changed review from 1 star to 4 for receiving new, non-defective ball and trouble of exchanging

Best Ball Period (and I bought the 3 top balls). The fact it's cheaper is just a bonus...
I been on an indoor ball binge. Bought the Mikasa Purple and Yellow Olympic ball hearing that was the best. Meh. I think it's pretty bad. A ton of body slap on contact and very little grip. I rank the Mikasa a 3 of 5. Due to disappointment I bought a Molten M5V5000 with high hopes. Still some body slap on contact although better and the grip is pretty good. I rank that a 4 of 5. This Tachikara SV5WSC has zero body slap and really good grip. It's a slightly slower ball but if you want to get a bit more power out of it you can always increase the air pressure some. To me its a 5 of 5. For $40 you cannot beat this ball and you can get a million different color options. That said, i would buy this ball over the other two front runners I mentioned even if it was $20. It's just better to me.

Good, sturdy ball - Meets Y standards for kids above 12
I am not going to lie. My child is 14 and until she joined the Y team earlier this year, I'm not sure I'd ever even *seen* a complete game of volleyball. The coach advised me to get a ball that was "indoor tournament size". That is easier said than done, because none of the balls seem to be labeled that way. (This one is, by the way.)She has practiced constantly, indoors and out. The ball holds up nicely, holds the air, doesn't need refilling - and cleans up very well, even after being in muddy "sand" pits during extra practice sessions. This is a rather insignificant detail but the ball comes in enough colors that it was pretty easy to distinguish one ball from another during practice with multiple teams. She's on her second session and the ball looks brand new. If she decides to go on, I may get a second, only because it would ease the stress of forgetting one if we kept one in the car - but it's definitely not necessary due to wear and tear.

Stick with Tachikara. They are the best.
I coach junior high volleyball and this is my favorite ball. I have been slowly converting the entire practice ball selection to just this one ball. All the other ones we have are junk after you try these Tachikara balls. Bought some SV-18S Tachikara also, but this is still better. Either way, all the Tachikara balls we have are the kids favorites. Get the lighter "Volley-Lite" Tachikara balls for your younger, beginner volleyballers.

Great Ball for the Average "Recreational" Player.
I play volleyball every Friday night, and this is the new go to ball. We were looking for something that was a little bit better than the average "rec league" ball to play with. This one is soft enough for some of the "beginners" so they aren't complaining about there arms. This ball also takes a lot of abuse, but it handles it well. There are a couple small scuff marks, but nothing that compromises the ball. I will be using this until it is no longer any good, and then I would purchase another one based on the quality and color choices that are available.

Amazing
It floats really nicely and you can feel where the ball is going. The weight is perfect and it feels amazing to dig and spike.

I didn't really like the colour at first but went for the price
The ball came early or on time. I didn't really like the colour at first but went for the price, now I absolutely love the colour! The material is soft and high grade leather. I much rather prefer this than the newer hard Mikasa (yellow/blue) vballs. My only complaint, is that when I throw the ball down during warmup, the ball always bounces to the right about 10-20 degrees. Not sure if it's lopsided, or warped. If you send me a replacement ball that bounces straight, that would make it right for me I can tell everyone I know, how amazing your product, service and timing was! Thanks!Jay L

Would be nice if products were tested before shipped!!
I liked that it arrived quickly. I was excited to get it since I had lost or misplaced my other Tachikara volleyball and the women’s vball season is a month away. I filled it up with a hand pump and it felt really good to the touch but was missing some bounce. I had put it away for a few days and when I came back to it, I needed to add air. I noticed the nipple is at a slant not level with the ball and when I removed the needle I heard it losing air slightly. I’m in the process of contacting Amazon to have a new one shipped to see if I can get a ball that holds air.

Good volleyball. Fast delivery. Need your own pump.
We just received the volleyball today. This is one of the best volleyballs I have ever played with and I used to play on school volleyball teams. We ordered on Amazon.ca, and received it the next day with Amazon prime. Highly recommended! You do need your own pump since it does not come inflated.
