Systi-Matic 56060 Magnetic Dado Shims Sets with 3/4" Bore

The shims are well done and conviniently marked so it is easy to know which is which.I would have given it a 5 stars if a thinner shim was part of the package.

Magnetized shims make it much easier to achieve desired cutting width of dado stack.

The dado blade that I use came with metal shims. they work great for shimming the blades, but they would always fall into the threads of the arbor shaft. When I tightened the arbor nut, the center hole of the shim would be caught in the threads and would flex. I never noticed a problem with the cut quality from the blade, but getting them off was always difficult. After being caught in the threads, the thin metal was bent and thin slivers of metal protruded from the center always cutting my fingers.These shims solve the problem. The center hole is larger than the 5/8" arbor and they stick to the blades to preventing slipping down into the arbor threads. Problem solved!This set of shims does not include the thinest .005" shim that my dado blade came with, but I never use it anyway. I almost always use the .020" shim alone and sometimes add the .015" shim, so this set meets all my needs.I highly recommend these if you are frustrated with metal shims that fall in the arbor threads and are hard to install and remove.
