🌠 See the unseen: Elevate your night sky game with Astromania’s UHC filter!
The Astromania 1.25" Ultra High Contrast (UHC) Filter dramatically enhances nebula visibility by blocking common urban light pollution wavelengths, making faint celestial objects like the Orion, Lagoon, and Swan nebulae vividly observable. Designed for 1.25" telescope eyepieces, it is individually tested for precise light transmittance and is lightweight with a protective case, ideal for both city and dark sky environments.

Dust Clouds More Visible
This definitely enhances dust clouds. I used it with a 2" 18mm orthoscopic eyepiece last night with my 17.5" Dobsonian on the Orion Nebula. The clouds are definitely brighter and more obvious with it than without it. Other reviews have complained about overall light loss. Yes, there is some reduction in overall brightness but with a 17.5" scope, it is not dramatic. I have not used it on other nebulae yet (recovering from appendectomy) but I have high hopes.

Good at highlighting a nebula
Really brought the nebula into view

Blown away by the added detail
Viewing through a 6' dob, live in a Bortle10 area, and waited for the moon to "set" at 3:30am. Viewing in Sagittarius, viewing due South, 10 miles North of Charlotte. Went straight to Lagoon Nebula. Ive tried a general LPC (light pollution filter) in the past which helps. However with the LPC, I was only able to make out half of it. With the UHC, I was able to see both halves, and the dark lane through the middle. Had a similar experience with the Swan/Omega nebula. In the past could only make out the "body" of the Swan. Last night I was able to view the "head" as well as wisps of clouds, off the tail. I have never been able to make out the Trifid or Eagle Nebula until last night. Both were very faint and could make out very little detail. I have no comparison to other UHC filters. However if you are on a budget like myself and cant spend $100 on a filter, I feel like you will enjoy this filter. Very pleased with the purchase and details I was able to see.

Awesome purchase
Purchased this lens to use in my telescope. Haven't gotten to use it just yet but was professionally packaged and was delivered in record time

A good filter for the price
So I will admit up front I do not have scientific equipment to measure light frequency pass-thru and fall-off. What I do have is a repeated set of deep sky images that are true to color without some of the annoying man made light pollution. What's interesting is I have a Canon camera insert version of this that seems to make the images more pink and purple, as if it is blocking more of the green. I also have a CLS filter, but I prefer the UCH as it seems to do a better job for me.

Great value!
I bought this to use with my 10-in Dobsonian telescope. While looking for the E. Veil Nebula I was literally unable to see it until I added this filter to the eyepiece. Once I did that I was able to see the structure in fairly good detail. I look forward to using it for other nebulae. Well worth the low price.

Great Filter for Viewing from City
This is, so far, my favorite purchase for my new telescope. I can see the Orion nebula now (which I could not see in my light polluted sky) previously. It is very faint, but I can see it now! One of my unexpected favorites to look at with this new filter is Betelgeuse because I can see it and its color so much better now. The filter came with a very nice, sturdy, case as well.

Good Budget Filter for Bright Nebula
If you have realistic expectations this a great budget filter to try out before going on to others, best on bright nebula and dark sites. Made a noticeable contrast difference on Saturn Nebula and gave hints of nebulosity of Lagoon Nebula under heavy urban light pollution but dims light as do all filters. Would buy again.

Esperaba un poco más en el contraste pero está bien, nada del otro mundo, ligeramente costoso para lo que ofrece
