Thrilled this is available.
I have a Craftsman 919.152813 which has enormous sentimental value. It has blown the factory style connecting rods multiple times. I got to where I kept them around (as well as a few other select parts). I installed my last connecting rod about 2 months ago - One I had used before (I always replace in pairs). I looked then, and the original was no longer available. I was searching auction sites etc, thinking I was going to have to buy a whole compressor to keep this one running. The used rod blew after 2 months. Heartbroken. Then I ran across this item. It appears to be quite strong, and installs just like the factory connecting rods after installing the bearing. My compressor runs great! I can't tell if there's supposed to be a torque spec on the allen screw that tightens the bearing. No instructions accompany the part. I have learned the torque spec on the crankshaft nut on my compressor is 89 lb-ft. I don't know how long it will last, but I'm very happy my 30 year old compressor runs again.

Compressor works like new again
Replacing the compression ring made my compressor work like new again. One thing to consider before replacing compression parts, consider the age of the compressor and motor. My compressor is 25 years old and I never considered the motor may have lost some of its torque over the years. The first time I turned on the compressor after replacing the compression ring the motor hesitated and hummed momentarily before it overcame the resistance of the new parts. It worked so I shut the switch off after less than a minute of the first test run. When I turned on the switch again the motor only hummed and popped the circuit breaker. I spun the motor over by hand, reset the breaker and tried turning it on again. It worked and I let it fill the tank completely. I released air from the tank so the compressor would turn back on. The motor hesitated but turned on before popping the breaker. I repeated this step until there was no motor hesitation and the new parts seemed to be worn in. I'm sure the motor will continue to lose torque over the next few years so replacing the compression ring next time won't be an option. I'll either will have to replace the motor too or consider an new compressor.

Going to do it do it right ..
The pot metal piston rods on air compressor is there weak point, so why put back on a part that's going to fail again..Thats why I went with this solid aluminum piston and rods...really doesn't cost that much more then the crappy oe ones, Compressor should out live me now. If your going to do something, do it the right way. I would definitely buy again, but I'll never have to, because there built so strong and will never fail again 😉

Saves you hundreds!
Great parts. Its awesome some companies still make these to keep the old school high hp compressors run smoother and like brand new again when the factory parts come to their last legs.
