How do you open the Everpure Cartridge and replace with this filter?

You first take off the protective plastic wrap, then the black protective cap. You shut the water off at the connection. Release the pressure of the water, then push the old filter up while turning it clockwise. Insert the new filter push up while installing and turn clockwise, turn water back on and bleed the water through the pressure hose. Watch the pressure rise on the gage and your done.

Can this be cut in half to drop in a 10" housing?

Don’t recommend it. Fibers will then be loose on the cut end

Order these. they say in the spec 3" wide but what i got was 2.5" wide. what is the width? i returned and reordered hoping they picked up the item.

3" is just a generic size from Amazon. Standard filter widths are 2.5" and 4". This one is 2.5" x 20" (approx)
