From sedan to wagon- Whisbar compatibility with aero
I bought a Whispbar rack for my 2010 Jetta sedan, and liked it, but didn't like the marks that it (and any roof rack would) it left behind on the paint- subtle as they may be. later I got a Jetta wagon, and it has rails, so I could mount a roof rack on those and not worry about the paint finish in the body. (Best part here is that there are no clamps that bother the door seal.) I forgot about the Smartfoot feature after having the Whispbar in storage, then thought that I'd try to use the Whispbar bars on the wagon. To my delight, I found these foot adapters and in about 20 minutes had my sedan feet off and the K328 feet on, and onto the rails. For some reason, the slides for the left were stiffer than the right, but worked out ok anyway. The rubber on the new feet just mooshed around the rails, making a nice fit. Now I can carry lumber and plywood on top and no worries.I converted my Thule box over with x-adapters, made for the Thule aero rack, and have ladder supports that go in the track as well. So I am ready for work.FYI- the Whispbar track does take any Thule aero accessory, but you have to push the track sealing rubber down to get anything started- the ladder rack needs a feeler guage to push the rubber down for the tightening knob's t-bolt. A bit tricky. The Whisbars are very quiet compared to any roof rack I have ever had, Thule square or Yakima round bars.

Not a Fit For a Yaris 4DR
Contacted Yakima rep and I think I got it corrected. It now fits, but without landing pad. Confusing fitting instructions.I purchased a Fit Kit K192 for a Throughbar to fit on a 2008 Yaris and spent a couple of hours trying to get it to fit, but it was a fruitless waste of time. Due to the positive other reviews, the Whispbar must work well on other cars, just not mine. The kit comes with very little instruction for such an expensive product.

Rubber is disintegrating
Installed this on my Prius and the rubber feet are falling apart. Defective rubber, am worried they will disintegrate under the clamps. Will contact Yakima to see if they have had other problems. These should last more than 2-3 years, seems dangerous for this part to crumble.

Works as expected
It fit the car perfectly (2011 Audi A4). The holes in the clamps fit onto the factory pins provided on the car, which is a nifty bonus...harder for nefarious types to pry the thing off the car.Comes with sticky thick clear tape that must be put on the metal clamps to keep the metal off the car, too.

Fit my vehicle fine. The rubber pads are starting to dry rot and crack (way too soon). The lip protectors wore out soon and ripped my door seal. I now dipped the ends in a liquid rubber product and have had no issues.

These do not hold onto Audi factory bars
These do not hold onto my 2006 a4 avanti rails. They've been ripped from my roof twice on windy days. Do not waste your money on this system if you value what you are putting on your roof. These clamps destroyed my expensive cargo box and two bicycle trays.

It works, but overpriced.
The Fitting Kit works fine with the 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid I installed it on. I just think that with the price, the protective padding that covers the hooks should at least come pre-installed. Instead, I had to manually attach it. If the padding starts to wear or come apart, I'll probably coat the hook with some liquid rubber.

it's a pretty simple procedure to remove & re-install as needed
Product meets expectations, simple to attach to the Whispbar, solid product, however be prepared to spend a little time setting up the bars to thecorrect length for the 1st time of installation, but once they are set up, it's a pretty simple procedure to remove & re-install as needed.
