Once it's on, you wonder why Canon didn't make one like this as standard equipment.Does what it should, blocks side light really well and doesn't interfere with anything.Just have a lot of light when installing as the screws are VERY small. It comes with the screwdriver you can use. It works. But be sure to really put pressure on the screw when when you go to break it free, just to avoid stripping out the screw head. Don't let that scare you it's not hard, just be careful. Oh, it will take some time for it to arrive. It is worth the wait!

The default eyepiece for the Canon R5 is too short, which makes it difficult to see the viewer in bright light, even with a wide-brimmed hat. This longer eyepiece is a significant improvement: It is 1 cm longer, and it's soft, so that you can make it occlusive. It was easy to install, and the extra screws and the included small phillips screwdriver are a nice addition. The quality seems good, the price is fair, and it was shipped promptly. THANKS!

Its an eyepiece, it works as expected and this style should really come with the camera. Should've bought it when I first got my camera. I have no issue with the swivel screen functionality with it installed. Putting the camera in a tight bag/backpack it can somewhat get in the way but its flexibility does not prevent it from fitting. When installing you are dealing with very small screws, not hard but easy to loose if your not careful.

I shoot a lot of sports in the evening and very often encounter side lit conditions where the setting sun is shining horizontally directly from my side. When this happens, as I'm panning the action on the field I frequently get light entering directly from the side and shining on my eyeball surface while I try and look through the diopter. This makes it very difficult to see anything through the viewfinder and really hampers the shoot. This eyecup makes everyday shooting just more comfortable, but it also greatly reduces or eliminates problems with side light. Installation was super easy with just removing and replacing two tiny screws. Product even includes a suitable screwdriver, so I was able to complete the entire switchover in about two minutes. The deeper eyecup can alter the allocation of space in your pack a bit as the body profile becomes deeper, so if space is already tight you might need a small adjustment to your pack dividers. Very happy I purchased as all my shooting is more comfortable and is isolated from outside light sources.

The main reason I love this thing is because of all the third party eyepieces this is the only one that stays in place. The only reason for 4/5 is it could have been made with a bit softer rubber like the OEM material for comfort. Don't hesitate to pick one up though!

I would give this product 6 stars if I could. If you have a Canon EOS R series camera, this is an essential item. I previously had an EOS 1d series camera and had an extended eyecup piece to help in the bright sunlight. Unfortunately, it didn't help viewing the photos on the screen. When I got my EOS R6, my very first concern was the viewfinder, and the possible issues bright sunlight could cause. As everybody who uses a phone for photos knows, the screen must be at maximum brightness in direct sun. This item is essential for not only taking the photos using the electronic viewfinder in bright sun, but also for viewing the photos as the viewfinder can be used for playback. This eyecup is high quality and looks OEM. Came with the screwdriver needed to remove the OEM eyecup, and extra screws as well. Super happy with this, and I believe is an essential piece of gear for any mirrorless camera when used in bright conditions. If Canon made this, it would be $50. This is an amazing piece of quality gear at an amazing price.

I purchased this because the original eye-cup of my R7 tore apart and the remaining plastic was scratching my glasses. I didn’t really want such a deep eye cup but this was the only option I could find. After about a month of use the rubber is starting to pull out of this one and I don’t think it will survive much longer. I expected this product to be more durable considering the price.

Really helps cut out stray light to better see. Also helps from scratching your glasses.

Great replacement for my Canon dslr original eyepiece. It's way better than the original and I don't smudge my nose on the lcd thanks to this longer viewfinder eyepiece. Highly recommended.

Great for keeping light out of viewfinder. It is soft rubber but not super comfortable untill you get used to it, then it's fine. Kind of expensive but I shudder to think of what Canon would charge for this accessory!

Nice product. Fits in snug. Does help in not smudging the display of the camera.
