Everything I ever dreamed it would be
Count Dooku has always been my favorite Star Wars character. Ever since I was old enough to understand the star wars movies, I was absolutely obsessed with him. I watched the few scenes he was in on repeat and adored the clone wars when it gave him so much screen time. My first saber was actually Mace Winduâs Force fx one, but I disliked it because of how bulky it was. Truthfully, I disliked the bulkiness of the force fx hilts, but I still wanted them to make a Dooku saber. It crushed me when I learned they had discontinued one in 2007, but I understood that it was imperfect. It wasnât until 2019 that I learned they were making Dookuâs saber again. After waiting my entire life, they were finally remaking the saber that I had wanted more than anything else. I was a little hesitant to order it at first, as I didnât want to be disappointed when it was the same as its 2002 counterpart. Still, I was very excited. When it arrived today, I was utterly speechless. They fixed every issue that the first one had, and it wasnât bulky. My eyes lit up like a kid again as I held the saber of my favorite star wars character. Dooku has always been overlooked, but he always had a fan with me. This is what I always wanted, and it will forever be my favorite collectible.Thank you, Hasbro. Youâve made my dream come true.

Awesome replica but pricey
I bought this as a last minute xmas present for my wife. It came right on time which was cool. The hilt is a tad bulky but I own other lightsaber replicas so it isnt that bad. It was pretty expensive also. Doesn't matter though. My wife loved it. Count Dooku' s is her favorite saber design and this has been a difficult find for me during the last few years. It was worth it.

âIâve been looking forward to this.â
Fantastic saber! For reference I have both of Lukeâs lightsabers (from ANH and RotJ). This is much much heavier than either of those. Itâs also kind of quiet, due to it using AAA like the RotJ saber and having a less open pommel grill. Itâs about as loud as the RotJ saber. But the blade is bright and the hilt looks fantastic. As others have said, the sound effects are not accurate to Count Dookuâs in the movie, but thatâs an extremely minor inconvenience to me. The other drawback is that hits donât register at all. You might get it if you smack the hilt but unless you want to shatter the blade it wonât make a sound when it makes contact with anything. Love it though!

Disappointed with packaging
So while this product has served its purpose for being the #1 thing my son wanted for Christmas it was delivered in its original box. I have 2 smaller children so after Amazon drives away they happily look out the door to see what was delivered to their surprise they discover a light saber! To which they run and tell their brother about their find. I'm disappointed because while he knew about it coming this was to be his big Santa gift. That couldn't happen now because his sisters had already seen Amazon deliver it.

Overall a decent quality lightsaber
I just got mine today as a birthday present. Never know when these things will sell out, so I got it early. :)Overall, I'd agree with John's recent review. As with my Mace Windu saber, the appearance is very nice. The actual stand is much nicer than the Windu saber's. The sound seemed a little clearer and deeper than the Windu saber also. That may simply be due to differences in the housing design. For those who don't know, these lightsabers and ones made by Ultrasabers, Saberforge, Vader's Vault, etc... all have the speaker at the butt of the hilt (except for dual bladed ones). As a display piece, the saber and stand are perfect. I like the way the blade lighting extends up the shaft as opposed to instant on as well. Nice touch with all Black Series sabers that takes multiple LEDs up the blade to make work.As an added note, all Black Series sabers are built for LIGHT play only. That means they can handle play dueling with light (maybe moderate) contact, but DO NOT bash them around like competition sabers made by independent companies. Here's the nitpicky negatives though.1) The blade doesn't detach from the hilt, so you can't wear it at all for conventions, halloween, etc...2) The blade, as has been mentioned in other reviews, is definitely orange (not red) in normal light. Even in a darkened bathroom used as a test area, the blade was still reddish-orange. LEDs have been around since the 1960s and are cheap, so there's really no excuse for not being able to at least get the blade red in dim lighting.3) The battery pack / speaker unit is indeed hard to install. First there's the tiny phillips screw on the unit. It's hard to screw in and is literally right up against the wall of the module. Trying to screw down the butt end of the hilt over it is a little bit of a pain also. Very fine threads on the hilt end, so be patient and careful there. That's the same with any unofficial saber also though (ie Ultrasabers)4) Balance: With Dooku's lightsaber having a curved handle based on modern competition fencing rapiers, I expected better balance. This thing is very heavy at the bottom end of the hilt though, which makes it a little awkward to play around with. Not a big deal for me personally, as I won't be roughhousing with it.5) Shipping: Amazon did an utter CRAP job with the shipping on this. My Mace Windu saber was sold via a third party and came in an outer shipping box. Amazon tried to save the cost of a lousy couple of ounces of weight, and shipped it with just a label on the retail box. End result; the retail box got chewed up and the collector's value definitely took a hit. I'm not even sure the shipping label will peel cleanly from the retail box either.6) The red toggle switch at the base of the hilt is fake. It not only doesn't move, it doesn't even light up when the saber is activated. As a final note and in response to remarks in other reviews; all manufacturer's lightsabers have thick hilts. The room is needed for the electronics. It's not that far outside of canon either. Look how thick the saber hilts are in the movies. A bit awkward? Yes, but such is the nature of the beast.Overall, I still think most of the Black Series sabers are good buys. The ones under $300 anyway. There's room for improvement, especially with the LEDs, but for the most part, the quality is there. Similar sabers via Sabertech, Ultrasabers, etc... are going to cost twice as much by the time you get done with adding electronics to the hilts.

Great buy!!!
Was worth the money, reaction sounds with motion are either delayed or absent, but that's due to manufacturing flaw. Item arrived earlier than promised. Will definitely buy from this seller again. NOTE:This is not designed for heavy dueling. For show, and swinging around with light clashing. Buy a stunt lightsaber if you want to really dig into the dueling aspect of it all.
