For over 100 Years ...
... La Rochere has been making French barware; these are the classic absinthe glasses with reservoir - the "Toulouse Lautrec" style. They're beautiful and sturdy and not delicate - this is actual barware and it's not 1854, so you get a quality glass in a vintage design that's not handblown and ready to shatter. Fabulous first set for the absinthe drinker. Tell the Green Fairy I said "hi".

Excellent quality glassware
This is a quality set of glasses and a spoon. The pressure seams are barely noticeable, and do not detract from the stemwares' beauty. Unfortunately it comes only with the one spoon, making the set seem a bit overpriced. If you like Absinthe drinks, this is a great set to get.

Excellent Glasses
Do they have seams? Yup. Ahhhhh . . so what!!! They are STURDY. Will probably last a lifetime as long as I don't drop one after too many green fairies :) They feel great in your hand and they are gorgeous!!! Shipping was lightning fast and product was well protected. I love them. So off I go to start the Ritual. Cheers!

Incorrect capacity in listing
These glasses are very well-made and attractive, however just as important to me was capacity. I searched everywhere for a set that would hold 12 oz+ and settled on these, only to receive them and find out they only hold 10.6 oz. That may not be a dealbreaker for some, but I was replacing pint glasses and needed something comparable in serving size.If you are looking for a smaller glass these are lovely, but if you’re looking for 12 ounces or more, skip this set.

Sturdy barware
If the manufacturer has been turning out absinthe glasses for over 100 years I'm more or less willing to believe that these are comparable in quality to the stout, durable barware that would have been standard fare in French cafés circa 1870 - 1915, when absinthe was banned. They are built to last, not to be luxurious, and there is very definitely an obvious seam up and down two sides of each glass. Maybe that sort of lends a certain authenticity and nostalgia to the drinking experience? In any case, these are sufficient to get the job done.

Glasses are beautiful and very robust
After trying 2 types of mouth-blown glasses, I finally found the Rochere set. Glasses are beautiful and very robust. The decorative design allows you to pour 1 oz of absinthe and then drip 3 oz of ice water without having to use a measuring cup. Glass is 6 1/2 " tall and 3 3/8" diameter top.Want to break a tradition? Instead of placing the sugar cube on a absinthe spoon, put it on 'The Empress Tea Strainer' (available at Amazon Prime). The fine mesh will insure that sugar is completely dissolved before it drips into the glass.
