Good Solid Weight Bar
Over the years, between a couple of moves and loaning things out, my once complete weight set purchased in the mid 80s, has dwindled down to a few bits and pieces. And while I still have the curling and dumbbell bars as well as some of the plates, the straight barbell bar necessary for many other types of exercises went missing some years ago. As I have not done any lifting for some time, other than some light dumbbell exercises, this wasn't an issue until I recently decided to start in again to help tone up an aging physique. This Sunny Health & Fitness 60 inch bar fits my needs perfectly. The fact that it is shorter than a typical 6 or 7 foot weight bar is actually a plus for me, as I am using it indoors in my "man-cave" where I have my TV, stereo equipment, and a number of bookcases filled with CDs and DVDs. I purposely wanted a shorter bar so there might be less chance of unintentionally banging into things about the place. And since my days of being able to bench 300 plus pounds are but a distant memory, any amount of weight I will be using will fit quite easily and safely onto this shorter bar (which I believe has a 250 pound limit). The threaded star locks do need to be re-tightened every so often to keep the plates snug, but I feel this is an acceptable trade-off for the security of having the plates held on by at least several inches of threaded rod, rather than just a clamp. An extra plus is that the star locks from my old curling bar fit this new bar as well, should I wish to double up. Of course, spinning the lock collars off and on is a bit more time consuming as well, but since I do not change weights frequently, this presents no problem for me. With approximately a 37 inch span between the inner plate stops, I am able to adjust my grip width to pretty much whatever I need. This is a solid one piece weight bar for use with 1 inch plates (NOT 2 inch Olympic plates). It seems to be of good quality, and priced fairly in these days of soaring costs for exercise equipment. It arrived well packed and shrink wrapped inside a long rectangular package, with no assembly required, other than spinning the star locks off, adding some weights, and spinning the locks back on. And you're ready to go. I'm certain there are probably better bars out there. But if you are looking for a good value in something safe and solid to utilize with a moderate amount of weight, this is an ideal choice. Recommended.

So Satisfied!! Can’t beat this price anywhere!
Wow! What a deal!! I’m a fitness enthusiast and have turned to Sunny Health and Fitness on numerous occasions when I need a lotta bang for my buck! I sold my dumpy weight bar on Craigslist that was 60” and about 2oz. Purchased this. As you are looking for one this is 60” not Olympic bar size you’d have at the gym. But as a 5’7 woman I find this bar very comfortable for my weight lifting at home. My husband also uses it with no complaints. So keep in mind it is smaller that your gym size bar which you can also buy on amazon but think of price difference and house size where this may be a nicer option. I have never had threaded edges so that’s exciting to add to this bar as well! So far I have no cons, if I find some I will add to my review. Pros: • Packaging was EXCELLENT! Foam bloke around 3 parts to protect, plastic wrapping, cardboard corners in addition to a cardboard box with plastic ties around it. • Weighted for extra resistance • diamond texture for grip • Attractive star ends to keep weights from going across the whole bar vs the normal metal raised lump. It also prevents the bar from rolling across your floor which is helpful if you have hard floors and young children. • threaded ends to keep weights on better Bar is 1” so I bought specific 1” weight clamps for $6 Overall I highly recommend this bar to anyone adding to a home gym whether new to fitness or long time enthusiast. Can’t beat this price, even on Craigslist. Very satisfied I DIDN’T know this, but you do NOT need weight clamps too since the spiral ring twists on and really locks the weight. I’ve uploaded a video to show you. If you found this helpful please click helpful, I’d greatly appreciate it!!! :) <3

A Versatile and Durable Addition to My Home Gym
The Sunny Health & Fitness 60 Inch Threaded Chrome Barbell Bar has become an essential part of my home gym setup. Its sturdy construction, convenient length, and reliable ring collars make it a top-notch addition to my fitness equipment. The 60-inch length of the barbell provides ample space for me to comfortably perform a wide range of exercises. Whether it's bench pressing, shoulder presses, bicep curls, or squats, this barbell allows me to work on various muscle groups effectively. The 1-inch barbell diameter is a standard size that fits most weight plates, making it versatile for both beginners and experienced lifters. I can easily adjust the weight to suit my fitness level and progression. The threaded design of the barbell ensures that the weight plates are securely fastened. I appreciate the added safety and stability this feature provides during my workouts. The included ring collars are easy to use and keep the weight plates firmly in place, eliminating any worries of plates slipping off. The chrome finish not only gives the barbell an appealing look but also enhances its durability. I've noticed that the barbell remains resistant to scratches and wear even after extended use. Additionally, the knurled grip pattern on the barbell offers a firm and comfortable grip during exercises. This is especially beneficial when my hands get sweaty during intense workouts, as it prevents slippage and ensures I maintain proper form. One notable advantage of this barbell is its compatibility with various exercises and workout routines. It has quickly become my go-to barbell for a wide range of strength training exercises, allowing me to target different muscle groups effectively. Assembling and disassembling the barbell is a breeze, making it convenient to store or transport when needed. The manageable weight of the barbell also adds to its portability. Overall, the Sunny Health & Fitness 60 Inch Threaded Chrome Barbell Bar has exceeded my expectations. Its robust build, secure ring collars, and comfortable grip have made it an integral part of my workout routine. I highly recommend this barbell to fitness enthusiasts looking for a reliable and versatile option to enhance their home gym experience.

Good Bar
This is a solid, decent option for starting strength training if you don't want to or can't spend a lot of money on the initial supplies. For years, really since I was in gymnastics, I had pretty much avoided doing much in the way of strength training like the plague, and had no problem defending my cardio queen status to any body who asked. Because as a woman with a few hormonal issues, I knew I put on muscle easier, and it wasn't my preferred look. It's taken me a bit to come to peace with the veins on my arms, though I'm certainly very proud of what I can do with my body right now...my current level of fitness at 40 far surpasses what it did in my mid 20's, when I thought I was so super cool because I ran 3-4 miles a day, and went hiking and rollerblading, etc. So I wasn't sure how much time or money I initially wanted to commit to strength training, and this was cheaper and well rated. And then as it quickly became clear because of the demands I was facing at home as the mom to an extraordinary little boy, who's conditions would have seen him buried in an institution even 50 years ago, that I had better start strength training like I really freaking mean it, using both body weight and free weights. Because I need a high degree of functionality, strength, and endurance to do what I currently do... and as I watch how he's grown and exceeding expectations, I have no regrets, and part of me even finds it rather amusing now some of the looks I get when I have to tote him around on my shoulders in public (because he's kinda big for his age, and I'm kinda short for a grown woman). And this particular barbell is definitely part of what helped get me there. So I put some heavy use on this, and I can tell you it will absolutely get the job done up to a certain point. If you are serious about strength training, you will probably eventually want to get something even better. So I can't give it 5 stars because: The screw on nuts that hold the plates on, or whatever they technically call them for this thing, loosen up sometimes, and you have to re-tighten them down periodically. It also makes changing plates more cumbersome. And the screw treads on the bar are wicked sharp. I was walking through the house without my glasses once, and I had left my medium load plates on the bar, I was walking with a fair bit of intention, and I clipped the edge of the bar because I visually misjudged where it was, and opened up a rather nasty 1 inch gash on the top of my foot. So that's something you will have to be careful about. Otherwise, this is functional and will get the job done in a more affordable way.

Great Value, Does what it needs to do
This bar is exactly what it says. 5' long, 1" wide (fits standard plates, NOT 2" OLYMPIC PLATE). Weighed about 12lbs on my scale. Really, I can't imagine getting a better value on this. Went to a few local stores, Walmart, Academy, etc, and couldn't find a place that beat the price. And this is a solid piece of metal, so no one could beat the quality either. There are a few small things. There were small rough spots on the bar, like other people mentioned, but nothing that felt like it could be a problem during a workout. It looks like it could really comfortable fit 4-6 plates, but given that it claims a max of 250, you probably won't need more than 3. The spinlock collars do slip a bit, and you'l have to re-tighten them as you exercise. I like doing bicep curls with it, so the swaying motion causes the plates to spin and the collars to start loosening. To address that, I added a small rubber washer before I put the plates on to help keep them more secure, and to add some tension to prevent loosening. I'll be adding photos of that later. This isn't 100% necessary, but the collars spin on so easily that it makes sense they loosen easily too. FOR EXERCISES: Seems a little short for bench pressing, so if you're looking to get into serious chest exercises (200lbs+), you might want to look for an 6' Olympic bar instead. But for lighter presses (~150lbs) it should be perfect. It's my favorite to use for bicep curls. Overhead presses for the shoulders are great here too. The only thing I don't 100% recommend: I like doing hip thrusts when I'm working my glutes, but at 1" thin, it does dig into you a bit if you've got it loaded with weights. Otherwise, really versatile given its size.

Excellent
Love it! It's a solid chrome bar. I hate those spring clips, it's impossible to put on, so the screws on each end are fine by me. I have Sunny dumbbells with plates, which is why I bought this bar, because I was satisfied with those dbs and the plates fit on this barbell as well. Perfect for a barbell to do at home, its not some advanced olympic one. This is just for people who want to maximize their workouts at an affordable price. 30 bucks for a solid chrome barbell that weighs 13 lbs is a great deal. It says it weighs 16 lbs on here, but the package says gross 15 lbs, NET 13 lbs... so the bar alone is 13 lbs. As someone who hasn't worked out a lot or even lifted (I am a petite girl), this is definitely 13 lbs, as I think I'd struggle with 16 lbs. I can put this over my head no problem. Either way since I have the sunny dumbbells I can put max 12.5 lbs on each side, 25 lbs in all, the bar plus the barbells would be 48.. I think I don't have to buy anymore weights for a loooong time haha. The ONLY thing, which I understand why people may not like it, is that while you're rotating the bar, the nut can loosen, but I don't think its the bar's fault, you just can't fight physics.

Fantastic Bar - Solid and Comfortable
This bar is exactly what I am looking for. Currently holding 150lbs on the bar and no bending or backling. The treads are longer on this bar, but in fairness it prevents the cogs from sliding. It does become loose pending the temperature of the room. A hotter day will expand the metal and you should be fine not using clamps to hold the weight on place, but colder days shrink the bar to a little less than 1 in. So clamps hold it well into place. Room temp at 22°c is good and the weights are secure. The grip pattern on the bar is not hard on the hands. The bar itself is about 10lbs, maybe 15lbs, so factor that into your weights and it is a total of 60 in. in length. Otherwise, great value, fits my machine well and I'm glad to be working out.

Nice barbell bar
It’s a solid bar with some decent weight to it without any weights on it. The quality is nice and I love the star treaded lock nuts that are super easy to remove and put back when switching plates on and off. This is not meant for Olympic style plates but is great for the standard 1 inch opening plates. Overall would recommend it for the price, great addition to my home gym.
