And a bonus is that there's a choice of diameters. This is the second one I've bought, the original one having been fine for many years. Its only downside is that the inside of the edging band gradually fills with horrible dark oily gunk that eventually starts oozing out in blobs onto whatever surface the item is resting on. There's just no way to get it out other than, perhaps, laying the entire thing in boiling water for an hour or two if, of course, you have a vessel sufficiently large. But, as the problem of this nasty gunk doesn't manifest for many years and a replacement is cheap, it's not really a major issue. I'll probably buy another in several years time.

I found the title of this splatter guard confusing as it clearly says "large" but is actually only 21cm diameter and too small for any of my frying pans. Make sure you check the size options further down the page - which I admit I did not do, I now realise I could have purchased a larger one. However, for the price, I find this an extremely flimsy and poor quality item and am not impressed by it at all. As another reviewer has stated, it really is not worth the effort to return it.

.....I have two of these, one to stop the frying pan spitting at me (or making a mess of the cooker) , and the other acts as a cover on my kitchen waste pail/ bucket, which will deter flies in the summer, not only by making a physical shield to them, but also by blocking food smells that would attract them.

This does work but it is extremely flimsy, mine arrived with a chip in the plastic handle (this was not in the packaging) which suggests it was packed that way, it was not worth the effort to return it.

Good quality product, does exactly what it supposed to.

I use the splatter guard when I am frying steak it saves a lot of cleaning afterwards and is easy to clean
