Axminster Craft AC300DS Disc Sander

Bought mine directly fromAxminister and it arrived as planned. The unit is powerfull and the disc on my unit is flat and balanced. I replaced the original 80 grit self adhesive paper to a more suitable 120 grit. However the miter gauge rail and the miter gauge slot is not machined properly. When locking the rail in one end, the rail protrudes above the table at the other end. The cast miter piece is far from 90 degrees to the table. The table is flat, but the adjustment for tilting is not precise. There is some adjustment possibilities but the trimming mechanism is made of cheep plastic rather than preferred isocentric screws and will not last long. I’ve replaced my table with a DIY one of birch plywood and this works much better. Not complicated and recommended if the machine is to be used for furniture making. See pictures. The record variant seems to be identical but the tilting mechanism appears to be better to start with.
