Good dash cam. Poor backup camera.
Installation:I wouldn't call the installation "easy" by any means. Not if you want to hide the wires and get the backup camera installed correctly. It took me about 2 hours. This meant having to look up videos of my car to figure out how to take off rear panels and wire into the reverse power line so that the camera switches to backup camera mode automatically. Not impossible, but certainly beyond what I'd call easy or for beginners. I think the installation difficulty is mostly dependent on your vehicle and how accessible (or not) it is for you to feed wires through your license plate/light area and your backup wiring. For my 2010 Honda CRV, this meant taking part ALL of the rear paneling on the hatch door, cutting a canal into my rear brake panel and fishing wires though other areas in the rear. The red wire attached to the rear camera that needs to splice into my reverse wire on my car had to be extended myself. This meant splicing an additional wire onto it first, and then splicing that wire into the wires on my car.The other wires that feed into the rear view mirror were all more than long enough to reach, even considering I was tucking them into the panels and fabric of my interior (the long route). The tool provided by them did make that part pretty simple. Once finished, it does look clean and you can't see any wires.Dash Cam:The Dash cam works very well. Nothing more really to add here. Its a working dash cam.Mirror / Screen:The mirror and screen is really nice. The touch screen is responsive. I have no issues seeing it in bright or dark lights. It was confusing at first how to get the "LCD screen" to turn off after I started driving. This can be accomplished in 2 ways. There is s mall button on the bottom of the mirror/screen that can be used to manually toggle the screen on/off. In addition, the setup has an option for a "screen saver". The screen saver actually just turns the screen off. Either way, both of these options allow you to use the screen as a normal rear-view mirror if you'd like.Backup Camera:This, in my opinion, is the weakest part of this entire product. Unfortunately, it was also the most important features I needed from this product.First, like stated earlier, the red wire that splices into my vehicles reverse light/power was not long enough after fishing it through the panels in my rear hatch and had to be extended myself. But most importantly, the camera simply cannot be adjusted properly for my vehicle. Ideally, you'd want the backup camera to have a wide angle vertically, not horizontally. This backup camera has a wide angle horizontally and a VERY narrow angle vertically. To make matters worse, the harness and method of attaching the backup camera to my car does not make it easy to angle the backup camera far enough down towards the ground, but instead, makes it easy to angle the camera upwards towards the sky. And like some other competing products, there is no way in the options to "flip" the image upside down. I suspect his could be fixed with a firmware upgrade. This means I'm unable to see my rear bumper in the camera's view... which means I have no idea how far back I can get to something before having to stop. There is also no way to adjust the guide lines when in reverse mode. They are a static image that honestly is almost useless for my particular car. Ideally, there would be some way on the options screen to "calibrate" the lines so that you could sort of match them up for your car's width and depth so that the "stop line" and left/right guidelines could be setup to match your car's width. I may borderline return this product for this reason alone, but I'm dreading undoing a 2hr installation.Overall:After doing a ton of research, it turns out this product is one of those Chinese-made electronics / core components and several companies have taken it and put their own branding, manual, firmware, etc and are selling it. The processor, screen, components, and materials are all good and well-made. But this particular one has gotten the backup camera completely wrong (wide angle horizontally and narrow angle vertically). This is backwards from my wife's new Toyota Forerunner backup camera that is absolutely brilliant. The firmware is lacking a couple of key features that might alleviate some of the backup camera pains (like being able to flip the image and adjust the lines). Better yet... if they were somehow able to release a firmware upgrade that allowed me to orientate the backup camera turning it 90 degrees left/right... that would be even better, but I doubt this is possible because it would need a new harness / attachment in order to attach it to the car and allow for up/down physical adjustments. If you are primarily looking for a dash cam, this one works well. Although, I suspect you could get one cheaper that didn't have all the extra cost of a 2nd camera bundled. If you are looking for a backup camera, I'd keep looking.

Water logged camera, screen freezes, frame rate is slow as a slide show.
EDIT: 1.25.20 I am speaking with the seller who is actively working to make things right. I am temporary changing to 5 stars as we communicate and try to get things sorted........YULU 12" Mirror Dash Cam MonitorI really wanted to love this reverse camera. My 1999 LandCruiser has a darkly tinted rear glass and an obstructed line of sight: backing up, especially in the dark is horrible, so I was very excited to use this externally mounted camera as my full time rear view mirror. When it works it seems pretty neat. For whatever it's worth, I used to be a service manager for Honda and then Porsche, and I would consider myself a knowledgeable and experienced technician with both automotive and electronic devices.Sadly my first impressions have left me very disappointed.I installed the camera two days ago, and I am already experiencing two significant problems:1. The rear camera is not waterproof. Water has apparently gotten into the rear camera causing a blurry image. I have double checked that it is not just expernal wetness. I have included photos of my installed "mirror" where you can see the difference between the clear front view VS the foggy rear view.2. The refresh rate is inconsistent and disappointing. This is when using the rear camera as my full-time rearview mirror. Usually the refresh rate is fairly normal... Maybe 20 frames per second? But sometimes it slows down to a slide show with 1 frame per sound, 2 frames per second, sometimes it will freeze and take several seconds to refresh. Sometimes it is distinctly jerky with maybe 5 - 10 frames per second, but still somewhat usable. I was experiencing this low FPS problem from the moment it was I stalled, before the camera was exposed to today's gentle rains...Maybe I have a defective unit? I really wouldn't know, but now I will have to uninstall it and return it, which kinda hacked me off, as it took me quite a bit of time to get everything installed perfectly... This camera system could be sloppily installed in 30 min, but it took me about 4 hours to meticulously do it well.Otherwise, it's an interesting gadget. I really liked the wide angle view. My truck has a significant blind spot on as cars pass on the driver's side, and this camera completely eliminated it! I loved how even with a blurry image my rear view was significantly improved. And I LOVED the idea that when backing up to hook up to a trailer I would be able to redirect the camera to face more downward and I would actually be able to see my trailer hitch as it aligned with the trailer!I did not like how (with the reverse adapter wire connected) the camera view significantly changed while backing up. I found that the learning curve to adjusting my eyes to the camera's wide angle was already a bit difficult, but automatically changing the view ratios again when in reverse made it even more difficult to judge distance and approach angle, etc. So I disconnected my reverse wire so the view would always be the same...I had hoped that the integrated software would do a better job at canceling out the bright lights of other vehicles. It's possible that my equipment is defective, or maybe all units become a bit glare blind. If there is actually water in my rear view camera, this would explain the glare. Finally, I would have liked the ability to adjust the display's contrast settings. Mine would have benefited from more contrast, but this might also have been because my camera may not be correct.... Either way, contrast control would be a simple adjustment to include in it's extensive menue of settings and options. All in all I think this could be a very useful tool, doubly so for driver's like me who are not able to use their windshield mounted rearview mirrors. I paid $150 for mine, and if it worked perfectly, I believe it would have been worth it.
