Helped me pass my test
I found this summary of Atlas Shrugged very useful for the class I'm currently taking. Unlikemost people in my class, I actually read the full text in addition to this summary. Overall, I washappy with the purchase. The points highlighted in this guide helped me understand a fewthings I might have missed by simply reading the full text.Pros:- I liked how each chapter was broken down. It allowed me the ability to skip around andfind what I was looking for.- It was about the right length for a summary it covered the book in sufficient detail. Wediscussed the book in detail during my class, and there really didn't seem to be anything that wasmissing from the guide.- The guide was kind of fun to read, unlike the actual book.- The description of all the themes used throughout the book was veryhelpful. This is what my teacher really focused on, so this proved to bevaluable.Cons:- No potential test questions in the guide. That might have been useful.I'm not in agreement with the premise of this book (my personal opinion of Ayn Rand's thesis). All in all, great purchase for the price. Helped me pass my test.

100 page summary of Atlas Shrugged
I enjoyed the summary. I wish it was longer, maybe 200 pages. That might have given a better overview. I also purchased the Atlas Shrugged book. I did go to some of the chapters in the book and read all or part after reading the summary chapter. I could do that, and because of the summary most of those readings made sense.I wish I had know that there was a list of characters in the back of the book. There were times when I back tracked to try to find out who a charicter was. It was often confussing because sometimes the persons first name was used and sometimes the last name. If I had know that the list was in the back of the book It would have been easier to identify a charater. This has given me the motivation to read the whole book. I was suprised that even though long, the chapters I read were fairly easy reading.I am active politically and I would recommed this summary to several of my political friends.

summary of Atlas Shrugged
A friend said I need to read Atlas Shrugged..... are you kidding me! It's like a jillion pages. So I got this kindle version of a synopsis and I enjoyed it a lot and it made me curious to know the entire story. Now I do plan to read the jillion page book.Well written with explanations of what things mean. It challenged my brain, remembering literary terms I hadn't considered since 11th grade.I would recommend this.

Easy way to read a terrible book if you need to know what the story is about.
This was a good way to read this book without wasting time reading the entire book in detail. I just wanted to get an idea of the story. The story Atlas Shrugged is junk reading.

What a Relief!
It was great, not having to read the whole boring book, just to see what everyone was talking about. I had read several chapters already, and I could tell that the summary did an excellent job. Than I could get through the rest of the "story" without having to wade through the original. What a relief! Then at the end, there is a summary of Rand's "philosophy" objectivism, which sounds a lot like Trumpism (self-interest comes first.)

Good Summary of Atlas Shrugged
Bought this book after watching the first 2 DVDs based on Ayn Rand's epochal novel. Couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next/how it would end, and was intimidated by the 1100+ page size of the paperback book in my local library. I may go back now and do selective readings in the book, since I now know the crucial items from each chapter. The book probably deserves more like a 200 page summary, but this worked well for me. BTW, the parallels between the book and some of the stuff going on in the federal government these days is downright spooky.

A bad summary of a ponderous book
My son tortured me with his gift of Atlas Shrugged. When I gave up on the one dimensional characters giving predictable speeches after the first 100 pages, I bought this summary hoping to learn the real meaning of this classic.Instead, I was punished with writing that would have earned a D in a Freshman writing course. For example, on the second page of the plot summary, the railroad line is called "Taggart Transcendental", not once, but twice! Did anyone read this before pushing the print button? Page 58 has a reference to Kanye West and Taylor Swift! Not only did I purchase a poorly written book, but it includes a reference that has become dated faster than left over takeout food.Oh, what else can I pile on? The constant shifting of present and past tense? The simplistic style: "We end the chapter at the bottom"? Inconsistent references, such as calling James Taggart both "James" and "Jim" in the same paragraph? Randomly shifting abbreviations - will it be NYC and CO or New York City and Colorado - see what the next page offers.Stick with Cliff Notes.

Dreary, Foreboding, Dark and a Chore
Thought I'd enjoy this but the same thing happened as trying to read the full novel. I fell asleep. I know people are supposed to honor and bow down to Rand, but she could havesaid everything she needed to say in five pages. The read is way out of date, dark, foreboding, dreary and justa chore to get through. Better to read another old book on the subject which is much more entertaining: Robert Ringer'sHow You Can Find Happiness During the Collapse of Western Civilization.

Fist-bitingly irritating and perfunctory.
Rarely do I take the trouble to post a negative comment about anything but I felt so antagonistic toward this book that I have actually made time to write this.It is extraordinarily shallow, perfunctory and a waste of space. The use of English by the author is simply fist-bitingly irritating - it could almost be said to be written in Globish.Atlas Shrugged itself, from the quick scan I made of it on line, may reflect the Weltanschauung of the author but has nothing useful to say about anything contemporary.
