One bottle will last you forever!!!
I used this at first to simply lube up a slot that had been giving me issues. I could have bought an overpriced set of nut files but chose Slick Nutz instead. Fixed the issue on the first try and I've since started using it to lube ALL of my nut slots on all of my guitars every time I change my strings and it always works. A single bottle will last you forever. I've got 9 guitars and change strings about every 30-60 days and I've still got an almost full bottle! 100% reliable and dependable even on bone AND plastic nuts.

Tuning Stability Achievement Unlocked
I have a really great guitar, in great repair, that is set up very well. But even a great guitar with a great set up has friction points. In this case, we’re talking about the friction as the string slides across the nut and saddle while tuning. Ever tune your guitar perfectly only to have a string go slightly flat or slightly sharp after a short bit of playing? Assuming you stretched your stings and have locking tuners or used a luthier’s knot (You did use a luthier’s knot, right?) there’s a good chance it’s caused by friction between the string and nut or string and saddle. That was my issue. Now I put a little (very little!) amount of Lizard Spit in the nut slots and saddle slots when changing strings, give them a good stretch and enjoy fantastic tuning stability thereafter. It’s also great for lubricating vintage style machine heads. I can’t speak to other machine heads, mine are all vintage or sealed. Is this stuff made from 100% genuine organic, free range, cruelty free, fair trade, lizard spit? Is it suitably vegetarian, if not vegan? I dunno, but it works well and that’s good enough for me and I’m happy to recommend it to others. One word of caution. This stuff contains graphite, which is very dark and very staining. You’ll want to keep it off of rosewood fretboards or other unsealed wood. A bit of masking tape and a rag to dab up any excess is all you need.
