Package Quantity:2 Osmanthus Oolong is a fragrant green oolong infused with osmanthus flowers. It is ideal for tea lovers that prefer a fresh, green oolong quality and refined, floral balance to the brew.Gui Hua (pronounced “gway hwah”) is the Chinese name for the fragrant osmanthus flower, which blossoms in the Phoenix Mountain area during tea season and is used in scenting this oolong. In the final stages of processing, the leaves are baked with fresh osmanthus blossoms, “heat-infusing” the tea with the flower’s fragrant aroma.

Yeeeahhh... no.
I admit it. I bought this tea because it was cheap and I've never tried Osmanthus in a tea before. I figured even if I just got a hint of it, it would be okay. Then, I made the mistake of reading the most popular rather than the most recent reviews.I've brewed this gongfu style, western style, even grandpa style. I think I might *smell* the osmanthus - because it's a sort of lightly creamy floral scent I am not familiar with associating with any tea, but I don't taste anything. Like... anything. Gongfu, the tea has almost no flavor. Western, there's a little bit of green and vegetal. Grandpa - bitter, astringent, green and I get some of that smoke another reviewer mentioned. That's it.I guess my first clue should have been that these lovely *looking* tight little oolong balls unfurl more quickly on the steep than any other oolong of it's style I've ever had. The leaves themselves look a bit rough and worn - but not in the happy bug bitten way of a nice Taiwanese oolong.I mean I can't bitch much. You often get what you pay for in the tea world.I got an addition to my compost pile.

Mmmmmm.... *licks lips*
This tea is amazing. The tea quality is fantastic. This is ti kuan yin/ ti guan yin/ monkey picked tea. I would not expect to get such good tea for the price. The previous reviewer said there were tiny osmanthus flowers in the tea. I received osmanthus scented tea, which is what I prefer. There are no flowers, but the flower taste is very much present. It's also more cost effective to receive 8 oz/per bag of tea leaves without flowers taking up weight. The bags are lined with a plastic film in case you accidentally lay it on a wet counter. Just let it dry before storing. One tablespoon steeps four cups in my Bodum Bean 34 Ounce Tea Press in Purple. For jasmine oolong/green tea jasmine pearls-lovers, this is a must-try.

Love This Tea
I love this oolong tea. Delivery was prompt and the packaging in individual bags is convenient. the price per ounce is better than I've found from other bulk tea suppliers. Experiment with steeping times - I usually like my tea a bit stronger so I steep for 5 minutes. Also, tastes ok for a second infusion. Recommended for those who like oolong teas. I was first introduced to this tea when traveling in China a few years ago but have been unable to find it here in the US until recently. Try it, and I think you'll like it.

Amazing tea
This tea was a giftWe busted out the tea at the end of the night and it was better than I even imaginedSlightly floral, slightly sweet, the perfect teaWhen you steep the tea the leaves are almost like flowers, they are actually the neatest tea leaves I have ever seenOn top of everything, he said that the amount the tea he got and the quality was worth at least double the amount I paid for it and the tea was also better qualityThis is seriously some great tea!

We love ice tea in our house
We love ice tea in our house. I consider this my "go to" for one of my base tea mixtures. Since black, red, white and green teas have different benefits, I tend to mix and match teas to rotate flavors for our ice tea. Typically we go through a pitcher of tea a day. I use this as one of my basic building blocks when I am creating different tastes to avoid boredom. Having a variety helped our household kick the soda habit.

Fabulous osmanthus tea
This is a very low-oxidation or green oolong. The tea is full of tightly coiled leaves and tiny yellow osmanthus flowers. The addition of osmanthus makes for an exotic but easy to like crowd pleaser of a tea. It has a bright, slightly floral, slightly apricot-fruity citrusy flavor. The flavor is very balanced, the osmanthus flavoring is beautiful but the green oolong tea flavor still has room to shine through. It has a natural sweetness and is not vegetal or grassy like a lot of standard green tea. Easily good for two infusions. One of my favorites!

Where is the osmanthus?
I expected it to be more flowery. It has no osmanthus essence AT ALL. Disappointing to say the least since thats the only reason I bought it.
