Cricket picks through the seeds and throws most of them onto the floor. Don't know which seeds he likes because there is such a variety to choose from I read that he is just foreaging like in the wild. He has no complaints. Seller shipped quickly.

My Canaries are doing exceptionally well on this seed! I also supplement with LaFeber Finch granules for optimal heath. To the person who said it has a “chemical smell”, that’s the aroma of either Star Anise seed or Anise oil which is similar to the scent of black licorice.

Higgins is a good brand. Use a lot of their seeds for my birds.

After researching which was the best seed for my canary this one was one of the top three, I purchased all three of the top seeds and mix them all together. He is very pleased with the mix.

Higgins canary seed is a very good quality food which has a great variety of seeds and vitamins to keep my canary healthy. While I can’t personally attest to the flavor, my canary seems to enjoy it.

I use this and the Smart Select by ZuPreem. Tweety loves it and he does quite well on it. I keep a small amount by his cage in a small container and put the rest in the freezer. The 5 pound bag is probably a 6 month supply for my one little bird. (He gets about a tablespoon every morning. I dump the old, wash his bowl, and put the new feed in)
