I waited a while before writing this review because I try a LOT of self help supplements for my mental health, and I know that initial impressions often change. I’m diagnosed bipolar 2,ADHD, and PMDD since I was a teen. I’ve gone unmedicated for almost a decade due to negative and debilitating side effects from meds. After giving birth last year, postpartum depression and chronic mixed states of depression and mania left me feeling hopeless and extremely unwell. I tried L-tyrosine, St. Johns’s Wort, vitamins, probiotics, you name it- and none of them helped to lift the never ending weight of the depression. When I tell you that I could feel this Lithium Orotate helping the very next day, I’m not kidding. I take it at night and my mood swings have lessened to where they’re not extremely invasive in my life. I’m enjoying spending time with my child, I’m not arguing with my husband so much, I’m sleeping through the night (most of the time). The only drawback for me is that I’m sleeping so much like a rock that I’m stiff in the mornings and don’t want to get up easily lol, but I’m working on that. I took 10mg the day before I was expected to ovulate to see if it helped my PMDD symptoms, and it absolutely did. I’m up singing in the mornings and enjoying for the first time in a long time. Just to note: there are days where I feel that I have a lot of serotonin buildup and get a little overstimulated and freaked out, but that just tells me to take a day or two off from the lithium and then I’m back to normal. This usually happens after around 10 days of continuous use at bedtime. Other than that, I have ZERO negative side effects. I can’t even say I feel like myself again because I feel better than my old self. The manic episodes have lessened in duration and intensity, and the depression is nearly nonexistent. This was my Hail Mary pass and it absolutely saved me.

A social-to-frequent drinker for around 30 years, I tried quitting drinking back in September '19, weaning myself off slowly across two weeks then finally going cold-turkey and that didn't turn out so well. I had unbelievable amounts of anxiety, my brain was an out-of-control ADHD machine, and I was really grumpy to everyone. I resumed my two 6-packs/week drinking and all of that went away. Finally read that Lithium Orotate is a big help for alcohol cessation so I decided to give it a try. I began taking it the final week of December '19 and Dec 31st was my last alcoholic beverage. I can't tell that the product is making me "feel" any better, perhaps it is, ever so slightly, but I've had zero withdrawal issues and my mood and temperament has remained level. I guess I do feel better, it's the final week of Jan '20 and I haven't had any of the problems I'd described before when I tried to wean myself off of alcohol. Placebo effect? I don't know. What I do know is that I feel perfectly fine, didn't crave alcohol at all, although out of Saturday night habit I was compelled to go grab a 6 or 12 and hang out with buds but didn't really crave the alcohol - just the routine of it I suppose. Last Saturday was a breeze, no compulsion, felt great, stayed home and binge-watched a bunch of Amazon Prime and other streaming services. I've been sleeping a lot better, waking up more easily, jitters have gone away, fogginess in my head is on the mend, feel more alert and less tired, saving lots of money, and I'm down about 10 lbs so far. I attribute most of these net positives to my alcohol cessation but I suppose the Lithium is contributing somewhat as well, especially since it seems to have a handle on my alcohol withdrawal symptoms that I would otherwise have had. HTH, and I hope you see a similar benefit if you decide to utilize it for that reason.

I will start my review by saying that I am sure that my experience may not be the same for everybody. That being said, this small little capsule that I take daily has changed my life. I have struggled with anxiety since I was a young child. As I have gotten older it has only increased and has also lead to a very dark depression. I have been prescribed medication in the past by a doctor, but it made me sick and only made my dark days darker. I changed things in my life and that seemed to help and I didn't need medical intervention for my mental health anymore. During the last two years, I have gone through a lottt....! Let's just say, I don't have friends. I have very low self-esteem. In the midst of the pandemic, I just started to physically feel my anxiety and depression. I literally would have achs in my chest, headaches, and just an overall heaviness. I also struggled with getting out of bed and just before taking these, I was starting to struggle with insomnia. All of that changed when I took a chance on these. I felt a difference on DAY 1! I had more energy and a lot less of the my life is worthless feeling. I don't recall having any negative reactions on my first day. The upcoming days just continued to be brighter. About 4 days in I had a really bad day. I will say even though my thoughts were not kind to myself I didn't feel the physical effects of my mental health struggles. I do notice an overall increase in my motivation, positivity, and sleep. I also am able to wake up earlier and get out of bed. At one time I didn't think I could remember what it felt like to smile or have a good day, but thanks to these supplements I have had good days back to back. I don't know where I would be without these! If you are on the fence to try these, I think you should do it!

Good product

Highly recommended - 5 stars across the board, and will buy again when this bottle is used up. Wanted to try lithium without having to go to the prescription level to see if I noticed a difference, and in the past 3 weeks or so I have noticed a positive difference in mood as well as energy-levels. After reading a lot about lithium supplements from studies by the NIH about what to expect, their effectiveness, and dosages, and then comparing basically all the supplements on Amazon and Ebay, this one seemed like the best one overall, and I have been really impressed. I wish more folks knew about the value added by lithium in small amounts, and Also the company - Purely Holistic - has notably high-quality customer service, reaching out after purchase just to check on how I liked the Lithium supplement, which was really cool. Full disclosure based on what I have researched: Nobody knows exactly why lithium is an effective mood stabilizer. One hypothesis is that because lithium as an electrolyte is less effective (i.e. not as good as a conductor of electrical charges) compared to sodium, and lithium partially replace sodium in the brain, it actually slows down electrical activity in the brain somewhat which has a stabilizing effect at low dosages and an antipsychotic effect at higher dosages. Lithium Orotate is not as hard-hitting as prescription Lithium Carbonate, BUT it still has a notable effect at low dosages, and the medical literature on PubMed recommends more research to explore effects of lithium orotate because it may have more therapeutic uses than what it's currently used for.

Price is up but I am still buying. Helps me with mind chatter when going to sleep. Helps my husband with mood disorder.

I think it helped but not really sure since it gave me really bad edema and I had to stop. Does that for some people I read
