I've tried several of these Smart Bulbs. I thought if I paid a little more I'd get something better. Basically, they are all sort of amazing. Great sound and color can come out of a bulb only slight bigger than a standard bulb. You can have a lot of fun with these. All the great reviews comes from this surprising novelty. If you've never tried one of these before, I think you'll be really impressed an the functionality you get for the price.When comparing with other products, it's not really the hardware you need to look at, they are all very comparable. But whatever the bulb, you are held hostage by the app because they are not cross-compatible, and the features programmed vary greatly. The 'White' light varies somewhat to, this is better than most, but truly they are all awful. You will probably not like to use it set to white, as it is too cold and clinical feeling.The app has great features, but not as many as I'd like. The remote cannot dim colors and has limited selection of colors it can set. I like the timer feature, although it's not as robust as others. The timer turns off light but not sound. The rainbow function hops from color to color and is not a gradual change that I prefer with other bulbs. I'd really like a bulb with a better app, or even an open API because I'd really like to program gradual wake up and sleep sequences.

This is a fantastic toy but does not meet up to my expectations in every way! Keep in mind, this is a speaker that is a lightbulb. Great technology but it has a few shortfallsLet me tell you about the great first. It works as described. The light is bright and the color as are great. The variations in color are fun. The candle flicker is meat but is the same paturn so it can get old. The speaker is clear and works well for a small speaker that is a lightbulb. Still amazed at how far we have come since the first lightbulb. It works with my Netflix and Amazon movies so I can have an amplified sound while watching TV. It's great! The timer and sleep function is such a great addition.The badIt took me several times to get it to link correctly to my iPhone. I had to restart each several times to get the lights and sound to work with blue tooth. My complete music list does not show in the app list to play. But I can play music from my iTunes app list or any app on my phone through the speaker just like other blue tooth speakers once connected.Although I can connect to several lights they do not sync together unless I am missing something. I connected to both but could not get music to play on both. I will keep trying and update if I get it to work. But so far they work separately. There is no way to link them together. The light functions separately.Overall great product for a lightbulb.

Let me start by saying that my husband rewired a lighting fixture in the kitchen which will not turn off and rather than fixing the issue he bought this...Technically this is kinda cool and is PERFECT for any college kid. While it doesn't light up an entire kitchen the way that I need it to it would add some great ambiance to a dorm room. It works best if you download the app. In fact, it only really works if you download the app. Just throw the remote in the trash and save yourself the frustration. Music actually sounds pretty good, even plays techno without sounding like rubbish! Of course it's not going to sound like your nieghbors $10000 car sound system and that's ok. So to sum it up: Dorm Room=excellent Gift for a teenager=excellent Kitchen Lighting=sub par Jamming out in your kitchen while baking=very good

When the bulb is responsive to the remote, it works fine. The sound is good and the effects are nice. Forget about the Bluetooth Color Lamp app for IOS. It is dead in the water. I can't even get it to connect to the bulb so as to control the bulb from my mini iPad! The bulb is connected to my bluetooth of the iPad but the app keeps saying connect to bluetooth and when I try to do a search for lamp nothing connects!The app as far as I'm concerned stinks! With the remote you have to be right on top of the bulb. The remote does NOT work from a reasonable line of sight distance. I paid $50. for the bulb. Amazon now has it for $30. As far as I'm concerned it's not worth it for the trouble you have to go through. I am waiting on the new Twist bulbs that are going to be wifi connected. Even though they do not change color, the Twist bulbs sound like they will be far superior to bluetooth connection and there will be no problems connecting with the app on your iPad, phone or whatever because it will be wifi.

Every review about this product is pretty accurate. When it works its fun and a cool little speaker system. I have only been able to get it to work correctly about 3 times now. My phone will connect to it and play music, but when i try the light feature it will only connect about 10 % of the time. even though my phone says its connected and playing music for some reason the light feature will say searching for light and then never find it. The remote that comes with the phone does not work very well either, only about half the buttons seem to function. It was a nice idea but seems like the software needs more work. i would not buy another one of these again.

I put this light above a spa bathtub/shower. The bluetooth has no problem connecting, and the speaker sounds good for a lightbulb really. The problem is the light doesn't dim when any color but white and the light starts to flicker at most of the dimming settings. There is also a delay of about 1.5 seconds after turning the wall switch on. Not a big deal for me because this was supplemental lighting, but could be a dealbreaker if it was the only light in the room.

Some software issues with IOS operating system, works fully (sound and iLight app) on my iphone 5 with IOS v.9.35, but on iPad ...only audio portion (iLight app fails to see the bulb. (Used for a project that needed iPad and ended up purchasing a separate Bluetooth transmitter to do what I wanted.) Sound is decent, what one would expect from a small speaker, a small step above a cheap clock radio, listenable, but little bass.
