Physician Wealth Management Made Easy: How to Build and Protect Your Wealth in Uncertain Times

Essential Financial Information!
This is an outstanding book for physicians and apart from the information specifiically addressed to physicians, the financial information is relevant for any investor who is seeking to organize their financial life for the long term -- with the help of a knowledgeable and ethical adviser (a Registered Investment Adviser) who has fiduciary responsibility for their clients. There are excellent recommendations for how to interview and choose an adviser, along with a very informed explanation of the "financial science" of investments. This author really understands the challenges and stresses of being a physician and this is a book that provides a lifetime blueprint for wealth management -- from the end of residency training throughout the doctor's professional career and into retirement. As one who trains physicians in their specialty residency, I have been recommending this book to all of the residents in my department and I will continue to recommend it most enthusiastically.

Fun to read!
This book is fun to read and very accessible to doctors. It uses many anecdote and stories to get relevant financial ideas across to doctors. It provides a framework with which all physicians can build substantial wealth.

An interesting read, for both Physicians and everyone else
Despite not being a physician myself, I found this to be an entertaining and informative read. Michael gives a good high level overview of retirement investing while not being stuffy and boring. While sections of the book are obviously only relevant to physicians (e.g., the chapter discussing setting up a succession plan for a practice), the vast majority is applicable to the average investor. The tips for finding a reliable financial advisor and the discussions on dangerous investment schemes to avoid were particular interesting. As an added bonus, his anecdotes about financial issues faced by physicians, and how they have trouble saving, despite making so much money, gave a rare glimpse into a world most of us will never see.

Excellent primer for physicians looking to manage their finances and create wealth.
This is an excellent primer for physicians looking to get control of their finances. Michael shows great insight into how medical practice is evolving over time, and how physicians can be their own worst enemy in creating wealth. His book is written in an easy to understand voice, and his passion as a stand up comedian is evident in the humor injected in his writing. I believe there is a lot of financial knowledge to be learned in his book even to those who are financially literate.

Not just for doctors
About 20% of this book is specific for doctors, but the rest applies generally to high-income earners (which increasingly includes people working in tech these days). The book is common sense investment and wealth management. The author brings the advice to life by relating personal experiences with doctor clients. The book also has especially helpful guidelines for choosing a financial advisor.

The earlier you get started, the better.
A former hedge fund manager (and very successful one at that) turned angel, Michael will open your eyes to what really makes us rich. It's not your bank account. It's your friends, family, community, and happiness in life. He'll dumbfound you with stories of seemingly "successful" people whom are actually broke - in the financial sense and/or one or more of the four elements noted above. Highly recommended for not only physicians but entrepreneurs and other independent professionals.

Although highly educated, physicians "don't know, what they don't know". Even though this book gives true life examples for physicians, anyone can benefit by reading and learning from others mistakes.
