Useful for more than camping
Purchased for camping and emergencies. Used twice so far. We lined with a heavy duty trash bag, using cat litter instead of the blue liquid. We didn't want to chance it falling over in our 8 person tent. The round base is unstable on uneven ground. The toilet fits into a square milk crate, which made it much more stable.

Inexpensive and works well
I got this potty seat to go into my husbands semi truck while I rode with him for 2 weeks this past summer. The bucket/seat is sturdy. We added a bungee cord around it and hooked it in the truck for added security. We also purchased some bags to go into the potty, for easy clean up. We purchased bags off of Amazon and then more from the camping section at Walmart, we even purchased potty bags from the pharmacy area in Walmart. All bags fit well. We never had a issue with smell with the bags.

Nice for truckers
My sister is a female long distance truck driver and sometimes when she has to park overnight at some of these rest stops and convenience stores, she has to get out of the truck in the middle of the night to use the restroom. I was very concerned about this because she drives alone and she was having to walk by what appeared to be some pretty desperate people who hang around the truck stops to cater to truckers who are into the "lifestyle". So I got this for her as a very practical Christmas gift along with the Disposable Double Doodie bags that you can just zip up and toss the next day and she loves it! She's even thinking of getting some kitty litter litter to put in the bags to absorb a little of the liquid so that it's even easier for her to zip up and toss the next day. Plus, it may also help absorb some of the "pee pee" odor.

Simple design & very sturdy
This is exactly what it looks like in the image, AND is actually high quality and won't give you any unpleasant surprises. To test the strength of the handles, we filled this bucket to within two inches of the brim with water and carried it through our house. The handles didn't bend one bit and are long enough to make carrying relatively easy/comfortable. The black toilet seat snaps onto the top like the lid of a bucket would and the seat cover fits well over the seat. The seat is easy to remove and replace on the bucket, which makes removal of waste easy. Once it is popped on, it stays very snug. It doesn't come off unless you intentionally pull it off. The handles are fashioned in a way that they fit around the seat, so you can carry it with everything assembled. We were willing to pay a lot more for a portable toilet, but all of the expensive ones with flushes and waste containers had at least a few reviews complaining about amount of water required and leaks. This thing could not possibly leak unless it was literally knocked over. It has held someone around 230 lbs so far, so we are content that it is sturdy. The height is perfect for adult and possibly child use. It is slightly lower than a home toilet, but still a comfortable height for an adult. After reading reviews for various waste bags, we decided to simply use doubled up garbage bags and use some of the portable toilet chemicals that gel liquids. From what we can tell, the only advantage to using portable toilet bags is that they already came with the chemicals, and now some aren't even coming with the chemicals anymore, so our garbage bag idea came from someone who said it works as well as buying the portable toilet bags. This is not only going camping with us, but will join us on a trip to a multi-night family reunion on large property with a home that only offers one toilet outside of the master bath. So, consider it for outdoor casual events too and either buy one of the pop up toilet/shower tents, or construct a simple PVC pipe structure to throw a tarp or shower curtain over for privacy. Between this and the Camp Shower, we have no need to go to pay-camp-sites anymore, even with more squeamish camping friends.UPDATE: Just came back from a 3 day camping trip and used this the entire time. It was incredibly handy. I went overkill and used a triple layer of trash bags inside of it, to prevent any leaks, and the lid still fit on very snug even with the three layers of trash bags. The black plastic gets warm in direct sun, almost hot, but not uncomfortably so. The lid accumulated moisture/dew overnight, but the seat itself was never wet, and even in below 40 degree temp, was never uncomfortably cold. At the end of the trip, we simply closed up the trash bags and left them in the closed bucket until we could get home. Very easy. On previous trips, I'd avoid drinking water to limit inconvenient trips out into the woods, but knowing I had this allowed me to drink all the extra water I needed at higher altitudes. I highly recommend the portable toilet chemicals that solidify/gel liquids. They help deodorize. We didn't smell a thing the entire time, even when packing up the refuse at the end of the trip.

Probably better than the tripod portable potties
This product is exactly what it looks like--a big plastic bucket with a toilet-type seat fitted on top of it. It is nice because the lid over the toilet seat is included and there is a handle like a regular handle so it is not entirely obvious that you are carrying around a outdoor toilet if you want to be a little discrete. Also, I would add Hefty garbage bags works just fine as liners in this product so I wouldn't suggest you spend all of your money on specialized, name brand liner products....

A very inexpensive yet easy to use system!
The bottom line for us: we wish we hadn’t spent $1000 for a composting toilet when we moved into our renovated travel trailer! The Luggable Loo is perfect! I double bag with the inside bag removable daily or more often as needed. It’s compostable. The outside bag is an ordinary trash bag which I change less frequently. We keep a small trash can nearby with peat moss to absorb liquids and scoop into “loo” as needed. So easy, smell free, clean, efficient.... love this system! You can keep the cumbersome composting toilet!

*Please read in a British accent* --I do not fancy ghosts, I do not fancy bears, but I do fancy a proper potty when nature calls. So a loo, a luggable loo will do and if I do my self, a doo doo will be quite alright for this loo is fancy enough for this heiniess.[...]
