leaves me quite surprised with the best cardio, fat-burning exercises available
Zumba Fitness, the entire line, offers a broad range of international dance styles as well as various different tunes, three minutes or longer. Personally, the demo for "Core" urged me into purchasing the disk, but when I saw "Rush", my initial choice of purchase, I had to get it and of course, it hadn't failed me at all, and in fact, leaves me quite surprised with the best cardio, fat-burning exercises available. With such artificial graphics of the trainers as well as a mini map of the trainee's movements stuck neatly in the bottom left corner, everything in the game is detailed but not eye-fooling or eye-scarring. Often times, these types of cardio games carry such horrible images of the trainer that it hurts just to stare at the screen such as the awfully hollowed thigh gap of that one dancer who obviously has never had one that leaves me quite at discomfort and that one guy with the drawn in six pack, which makes me unsure. Did they purposely choose men like this or did they paint these details over the model body. This isn't distracting, and because all the little avatars around the trainer perform the same action, it deceives you into thinking it truly is a live Zumba practice and that if you were to stop one second, you'd be missing out on all that fat burning, leaning process those other trainees were going through. Everything about this game is easy to get used to, and is the best fat burning cardio game there is for the XBOX 360 Kinect as arms and legs are both necessary to reach full potential in the final game scoring system. Individually, it makes for a fun and comfortable experience that girls and guys, from the age of 11 and higher can preform. Must I say, if you do perform these moves perfectly, euphoria will be triggered and all you'll be feeling is that nice burn, usually placed on the outer thighs as well as the butt and triceps. BEST FITNESS GAME EVER FOR FUN AND RESULTS. PERIOD

Love Love Love (Zumba Beginner)
In general, I have always felt that exercising is really boring, but I know I have to do it. Now that I have my Xbox Kinect, exercising is fun, challenging, and I look forward to doing it each day. Although I am a Zumba beginner I love this game! The graphics are amazing and the music and moves are so fun that I forget I am working out altogether! Each day I am challenged to perform better than the day before, so it is never the same. Like many Kinect games, this game gives you feedback according to how you move and if you do the moves properly or improperly. You will get a rating such as Nice, Hot, and Zumba (best). As I work towards my fitness and weight loss goals, I find this feedback and game really useful. I also find the fact that this game offers varying lengths of classes (15 mins, 30 mins, 60 mins, etc) a great feature because I can eaisly accommodate my schedule when needed. Bottom line, this game is a fun cardio workout that will have you thirsty and sweating in no time!

Almost perfect
The video quality and menu navigation are 100% better than with the first game. I burn 500-600 calories on average with the full length class. I think this game comes in second only to dance central 2--- with a slightly better calorie burn going towards zumba and higher fun factor to dc2. I love that I can do any class without having to first "unlock" it. The variety of classes and sets are fabulous. I'd say this game is almost perfect. Things I dislike are: 1) The flashing lights are distracting but I got used to them. 2) I don't like when the screen sometimes navigates away from the main character at the start of a new step. 3) Animated cue cards are great but are not available for each new move. 4) Missing a sense of connection. Weird as it sounds I miss the occasional dialog from the first game. It gave me a sense of connection... The video quality is fabulous but some of the dancers have a really blank expression. 5). I wish there was more than one cool down. I hate that song and dance. :p. I miss the cool down from the first game. Since I only do this to work out I'll probably do my own cool down. Hey does anyone else think the cool down dancer would look like a character from avatar if she were blue? Phenomenal figure! All in all I highly recommend the game for the workout and serious calorie burn---without the soreness the next day! This and dance central 2 will tide me over until the next versions. I don't care about scoring. For me, the most important things are: Will it burn tons of calories? Yes! Will it keep me coming back for more? Yes!

Really Fun But Frustrating Controls
Others have explained the structure of this game, so I'll skip that and move on to my take on Zumba Rush.... FUN FACTOR: 5 of 5 (this only cover the Full Dance Section) SWEAT FACTOR: 5 of 5 (when compared to other video games) INTERFACE: 3 of 5 Although somewhat confusing, not much worse than the abysmal standard set for xbox games. (BUT SEE ALSO CONTROLS, AND RANT ABOUT CONTROLs at End) FEEBACK / BODY TRACKING: 4 of 5: Not especially accurate, but certainly acceptable if you're not gonna obsess about this. I feel that overall the ratings reflect how I did on a song, and I've learned NOT to get bent out of shape if it simply can't read a movement or two. CONTROLS: 1 of 5: By controls I'm referring to ability to select menu items (thru any means). See Rant below. For me this severely limits my ability to use anything in the game except the Full Class. (when trying to do tutorials, I kept accidentally choosing the wrong, item) I'd hoped the update would fix this, but alas no improvement whatsoever. CALORIE COUNT: Ignore these: Video Games calorie counts are a joke. Get yourself a decent Heart Rate monitor watch (I like Timex but there are other good ones too) if calories matter. Even if the Game asks your weight sex etc. It's just a guess - the game will never really measure YOUR energy level output (which is the most important factor) until these games can actually measure a Heart rate - these counts are absurdly inaccurate. ----------------------SUMMARY--------------------- As annoyed as I am about not being able use anything other than the FULL CLASS options (see rant below). I find the FULL DANCE section surprising close to the Zumba Class experience. (You'll never be able to replicate the incredible fun a Live Zumba Class) but I think they came as close as one can expect in a video game. IF you are someone who's had either some Zumba experience, OR a lot of practice doing mirrored style video dancing, I don't think the Tutorials will be greatly missed. For anyone who's never tried Zumba, the music is really fabulous, the movements are wonderfully varied - not nearly as mechanical as Hip Hop or some of the other styles featured in other dance games. Based on a combo of Fun Factor and Sweat Equity (calorie burn) This was the true winner for me when compared with my exercise video game collection: Dance Central (1 or 2), Your Shape (orig or 2012), Just Dance 3, Xbox sports: (ie my current exercise collection. If you really want to be fit, you'll also need to do other forms of exercise (I find exercise DVDs and live classes best for this. I've hurt myself too many times trusting "Your Shape's" tracking rather than using my own common sense) But for calorie burn and core work I'd say Zumba tops the heap of Vid Games. If feedback tracking and tutorials is your thing you might want to go for Dance Central 2 - though even in that game, I found I learned faster, just cooling out and trying to mimic the characters. Both Just Dance and Dance Central have a better (but not perfect) interface - if that's real high on your list. Lastly: We all have different tastes in music and I'd say music is one of the biggest motivators in these games, so by all means investigate the track lists and you tube vids to help you make Dance Game decisions. -------------------------------------------------------------- RANT: AN EXERCISE IN FRUSTRATION - A RANT ABOUT GAME "CONTROLS": PS: I ALSO INCLUDED something similar to the following IN A COMMENT (so you needn't read this again) One reviewer said "you can use your hand, voice or controller." Not so for me. My game TOTALLY ignores my controller. Personally I'd much rather use the controller than hand gestures when choosing menu items. Which brings us to Hand Movements: I'm not sure why, but my hand movements in this game jump about totally erratically. This makes it almost impossible to access correct menu items reliably - so I finally gave up on the tutorials (or anything that required frequent menu selection) and chose to stick with "Full Dance Class". Since others haven't complained I'd say YMMV. As for Voice control: I'd say it's so-so. The system hears certain commands, ignores others. (Yes, I've tried screaming, turning the volume down etc) I wouldn't say that the voice control is much worse than other games - it's just not a very reliable option and frankly I think it's always going to be of limited use in games that play music while you need to issue a command - nobody's fault, just the nature of the beast. So All in all I feel that this game has by far the worst menu response of any game I've tried (I have about 6 Kinect Games). The strange thing about the funkiness of menu selection is that body tracking is decent. Lest you ask: I tried recalibrating the Kinect Tuner - no improvement. I went back and tried other games (thinking maybe my memory was off since I use the controller whenever possible) but hand gestures worked considerably better in All of them.

Perfect for when I can't make it to Zumba class
I also had the first Zumba version (for Wii), and agree that Zumba Fitness Rush (XBOX Kinect) is a vast improvement. The animation and music are awesome, and I like that it's a 'party' from the beginning with lots of other dancers in the background. I haven't tried all the classes yet, but the settings I've seen so far are pretty cool. As someone who attends Zumba classes 4-5 times a week, with several different instructors (including one who has toured with Beto Perez), I found Zumba Fitness Rush very realistic and challenging, yet I was able to pick it up fast. If you are thinking about purchasing this game because you want to start doing Zumba, this might not be for you. You may end up a little frustrated learning so many moves so quickly. Like a real class, the cues are minimal and it take practice to learn where steps repeat with the music. There is a 'Learn the Moves' feature though. It is definitely a fitness game and you will sweat. Since you don't input your height and weight (and Kinect scanner does not calculate), the calorie count at the end of the game is way off. I always wear a heart rate monitor during Zumba at my gym, and the medium intensity Rush full class was pretty close to the same (heart rate b/w 150-165, about 850-900 calories burned). There are lots more routines in this newer version, plus the ability to select single songs or particular dances. On days I can't make it to the gym, I'll definitely be getting my Zumba Fitness Rush on!

Is it REALLY an improvement?
I just got my Zumba Rush last week...with all the hype and awesome reviews, I was beyond excitement. One week later I am happy with it but not overjoyed in the least. Pros: Ditto all of the comments concerning song selection, the graphics, the variety, etc. I also like that there are different dancers within each class. The ability to change your venue without "unlocking" is very nice. Also like that I can hear a preview of the song/class prior to selecting. As with the first Zumba, I am glad you have the ability to turn the background noise down and music up. Breaks: I love the fact that this version provides a break between songs over the 7 second one provided by its predecessor. It gives me a chance to drink water. Neutral territory: Not sure if this is a pro or con yet but the classes have some of the same songs/dances in them that I did from another class (overlap). Cons: I don't agree with the pros regarding the tracking. I think it has taken a BIG step backwards. I can literally be standing in place or sitting on the floor and I get a "Hot," "Zumba," etc. It must have some random feedback incorporated in it because as uncoordinated as I am, there is NO way I should have received 4 stars. I appreciate feedback from the first Zumba which actually tells you what you are doing right and wrong. Dance Central 2 also has it right. This is one of my biggest issues with this game. Accuracy of Calories burned: I worked out for 45 minutes (medium intensity, medium length), sweated my butt off, drank a gallon of water, etc. and it tells me I only burned 200 calories! Really? I could work out with the same intensity and length with Dance Central 2 and be well over 400. Special Effects/Zoom: This sounds great, right? Not when you are trying to follow the dance steps! It zooms in, flashes, pans to audience, etc. Don't get me wrong, its neat but then I lost where I am (and of course still get "hot" feeback!) Final thoughts: If you are getting bored with the first Zumba and are dedicated to this type of fitness, definitely consider buying this. However, if I could do it all over again, I would have waited until it was under $30 and/or used at GameStop.

Effortless Exercising!!
I have purchased Zumba 1 & 2 for Wii as well as Zumba Rush for xBox. I'm not really much of a video game player, or much of an exerciser, but Zumba has changed me in both respects. Not only are the dances so fun that I hardly realize I'm actually exercising, but I've also lost 38 pounds!! Additionally, I'm using muscles I haven't used in years and I'm noticing muscle development in my thighs, stomach, arms and back. I really think this system works if you stick with it. Of the 3 zumba games I've purchased, I absolutely like the xbox version the best. Zumba 2 for Wii offered more tracking options (you could track: time, accuracy, calories and weight). Zumba Rush tracks: calories, accuracy and time only. However, the graphics are FAR superior on the xBox version than on the Wii versions, it also has more scenes---which is nice, more instructors and more songs. This is a really fun version and it gives you a great workout, even if you don't realize it!!

Totally FANTASTIC!!!!
I love this game/workout etc. It is so worth it if you like zumba or want to try it and don't want to hear a bunch of talking! I looooove the fun, funky, motivating and updated music! I am serious about the music, is it what you would hear in a popular zumba gym. You can make your own play list or take a short or long class, plus the better you do, the more songs are unlocked? I think? although there are tons of songs, so I am not in danger of getting bored any time soon!!! I have the Zumba "join the Party" DVD's from the infomercial a few years ago...and this is 100% better than that. I hated all the talking and explaining the moves, and I could not turn off that feature...so I just stopped using it. I could not really hear the music over all the talking. I don't have the new DVD collection I am going to get that too...and hope it is better than the "join the party"...so I can zumba when I travel and hear the great music. If you have 2 left feet...it may take a while to get in the groove...but try it...it is reallly FUN!!!

Good Workout, even if you can't dance!
It gets you moving, and I was so busy trying to keep up and watching the feedback that I didn't even realize I was working so hard until my son pointed out I was sweating and my face was red. I discovered muscles in my butt and abs and arms I had forgotten about! My husband is 54, 6' 3" and has no rhythm, but we had great fun and he did fine. It would help if there was a wider tracking area but we have only punched each other once (by accident!) from getting in each other's way. Even if you don't get the moves perfect you burn a lot of calories and tone up. If you're competitive and it irks you that you don't get "perfect" all the time this may annoy you because it can be a bit off for accuracy sometimes, but overall the sensor when fine-tuned is pretty darn accurate. It's best to start and learn feet then add arms and not try to jump in and do the dance 100% first few times. Otherwise you may get frustrated as the pace is quite fast and not all moves used in the dance routines are taught ahead of time. Can't wait for Zumba Kids to arrive so I can do this with my girls.

Great workout!
I have Zumba Core, Rush, and World Party. I play it in the basement with shoes on carpet so a lot of the twisting and jumping moves are modified. This version is a great game. Zuma World Party is newer, the characters are more realistic than the previous versions but it doesn't necessarily make it a better workout than Rush. This version is a great workout with more traditional Latin moves than World Party and Core. I wear my Fitbit and an hour class gets me about 6500 steps, similar to Core and more than World Party. All in all it's a great cardio workout when you can't get out of the house,

Fun workout
I started zumba classes in the fall and had fun, but wasn't very good at the moves. This game has a breakdown on the basic dance steps that has helped my rhythm and accuracy dramatically. This workout is so fun and the choice to do a single song, 20 minute workout, 45 min or 60 minute workout already premixed is great. I am having a blast and I really get my heart rate up. I have used this for almost 1 month about 4-5 days a week and I am still not bored. Highly recommend this game if you want a great workout without a lot of pauses between songs.
