HOTCOOL Ultra Slim Stand Case for Asus Zenpad S 8.0 - Black

For around $10, this case can't be beat. I couldn't find other cases anywhere for my Asus ZenPad Z580C as it just came out less than 2 weeks ago. The case fits pretty much perfect and simply snaps around the edges, and all of the cutouts are where they should be EXCEPT for the MicroSD card slot (very slightly covered). This isn't a big deal for me cause I figure that's something that doesn't need to be regularly accessed.Also, the sleep/wake function works perfectly as it should and will save wear and tear on the power button. Overall I'm very happy.Just 2 things I'd love to see. A snap to keep the case closed, and a simple elastic loop to keep a stylus in.

But not always. So, with most things on Amazon, I look at the number of negative reviews and what they say. I'll also compare prices. With a case, I'll look at how much of the front of the device is covered by the case, how difficult the case makes using a device.This HOTCOOL case is not the cheapest, but it's not the most expensive. It doesn't make using my tablet more difficult, excellent fit. There were some negative reviews. Mine seems perfect, but I've only had it for four days. All their issues showed up in the first few weeks. Some (like magnets coming out) are easy enough to fix. Others could be solved by Amazon's excellent return policy. From what I'm seeing, so far, I'm not expecting any trouble. Expecially since it seemed to have more 4 and 5 star reviews than the others.

As some others have reported, if you open the cover and fold it back on itself, the magnet will sometimes line up perfectly and shut the screen off. This doesn't always happen to me, but it does happen occasionally. I can usually just slide the cover over a little and it will come back on. However it's annoying if I have a full screen game open which will require a reload when the screen comes back on. Fortunately, I don't play games often.edit 5/13/16: the plastic continues to crumble after careful use (never been dropped) and it's about to completely fall off after 4 months.

EDIT (Jan 2017):Still really really love this case and cover. He uses his tabled often, every day, and the case has held up as well as kept the screen nice and safe from scratches. He really likes this case. It is a bit floppy and he uses it to hold the tablet and sometimes it flops away from him but has not flown out of his hands yet. Despite this user preference that creates a bug it is still an awesome case. Thanks!Original review (Jan 2016):I got this for my partner for the holidays. He loves it and uses it on his tablet, never takes it off.When he's reading in bed he flips the screen cover section back and uses it as a handle. The screen protector flap is really well attached to the back cover. It makes a fair stand as well for watching films etc.Simple, not tacky, and was easy to pick out due to the kind comparison photos provided by the seller. Your tablet really feels protected!Would definitely recommend to anyone with this type of tablet.

decent case. I've owned it for a while now, though, and a lot of the plastic on the corners has chipped, and one of the magnets has broken out. I haven't been particularly rough on the tablet/case so I think it's showing more damage than it aught to show.That said, I would still buy another one of these since the price is right. just don't expect to be able to drop your tablet repeatedly and have the case come out unscathed.UPDATE: The case finally bit the dust. the chips extended until a corner of the case wasn't holding the tablet in on one side. Considering the design I'm not surprised. It's a good case for $12 - I'm about to buy a new one to replace it since it's still really, really slim and the case gives me good protection against drops.if not for the case, i think my son would have broken the tablet by now.

Fits my tablet just fine, but it's flimsy. First, one of the two magnets pulled loose, and the other one was not strong enough to work by itself. I had to carefully superglue it back in place to get the case to function.Then, the side of the case that contained that same magnet broke free in one 1/2 " fragment. Again, I carefully superglued that fragment in place, smearing extra glue all around the fragment.Then, one of the four corners cracked, so before it could snap off I superglued it on the inside and outside, smearing extra glue all over.So far, it has held together. The case fits well, works well, until it starts falling apart. I would not buy it again, or recommend it to anyone.

Received my new case today Easter Sunday - a 100% improvement over the first one I purchased. Feature I like best is the magnets attached to the case vs the thin edges of the tablet like most. This tablet is so thin its ez for the tablet to get lost in the case being bigger than the tablet. The way this case is cut the area on the right where all the buttons are is complete open for ez use. I turned off the instant on feature when you open the case cover. I store it on the back edge so ez for it to flip open if I knocked it over. Only takes a double tap to start it up or the button on the right side right where you open the case. No flex in the case and a good feel in your hand. Job well done

Case was never dropped or mishandled, but has broken in two of the corners and where both magnets sit. The magnets came loose when this happened so now it doesn't snap shut and the sharp edges on the corner make it uncomfortable to hold. It didn't even take very long before the first time it broke, either.Amazon offered me a refund but I had to ship it back. Decided it wasn't worth the effort and kept it as a protective case for when I throw it in a bag. Snap it in, toss it in the bag, and immediately take it out when I want to use it. Way too expensive for that use, but I guess I learned the hard way.
