This was a fun model to build. It is very nicely made. All the part fit as needed with no modifications needed. Some of the small parts are hard to see if you are old like me. My 16 year old son and I build this and it is way cool. A dremel tool came in very handy to debur the pieces. I will be another kit like this one soon.

It seems to take two tries to get the best product. The instructions are very vague in some areas, which causes a redo on some parts after figuring out what went wrong. These parts are not designed for do overs. I enjoy putting them together but they just never turn out right the first time around.

This was a gift and he was very happy with the quality and the directions were easy to follow. The finished product was impressive. Exactly as described!

This is what frustration looks like. The one thing this has going for it is that the metal components are much thicker than those of the Metal Earth models so attachment points are not likely to break if you find yourself having to undo them - and you WILL find yourself having to undo them multiple times. Those same attachment points are not easily bent and are often in hard to get at locations. I had to use a pliers, a needle nose pliers, an X-Acto knife, sculpting tool, super glue, and so much more to try to get this together and it was immensely frustrating every step of the way. It didn't help that three small parts were missing from one photo-etch tree. How does that even happen, but I was actually able to work around this. But even after following the assembly instructions to the letter, the thing would not wind up. It also didn't help that the gears in some spots barely touched each other and the whole network of mechanics was fiddly at best and nowhere near as robust as the price tag would have you expect it to be. Upon trying to correct the lack of wind-ability, the spring itself sprung from the piece that contains it and my arthritic left hand was not able to hold it properly to get it re-wound no matter how many times I tried. In the end, it wasn't worth it. Again, for the cost, this should have been a much more sturdy and exacting model but in the end, it's just crap. I have built multiple Rokr wooden models. Stick with them. They're fun, they go together well, and best of all, when you finish building one - IT WORKS!!!! I give this two stars only for the quality of the metal parts and the fact that they are forgiving enough to allow you to rework them.

The model is marvelous. It's sharp and attractive. The gearing for the motor don't mesh well enough for it to work reliably. My son got me this for Father's day. I've been working on it steadily since then and it's coming together nicely. It's a fun project to put together, but the gears don't line up well. It's dificult to make the 2D gears into 3D gears. The instructions have nice drawings, but no useful verbage. A little more engineering and this would be incredible. As it is, it will look nice on my desk.Also, painting suggestions would be nice. Show the part and suggest a shade.

The metal is extremely thin.
