Totally Awesome Specs!
Just look at all the specs, this computer has everything! I opted for the I-5 with the 1tb SSD drive for $35.00 less than the I-7 but has only a 256g SD drive. This computer has an optical drive that most other Laps do not have. Also 16mb ram expandable to 32mb on the I-5 anyway., not sure what the I-7 has? 17.3 display is awesome! Only one small drawback is the on board GPU, not made for gaming and not up-gradable . But for this price the computer has everything else you will ever need, runs very fast! I was looking at Laps for twice the price that had no optical drive, only 8gb ram 15.6 screens and just no where near the specs this one has. There simply is nothing better for the price, this is a steal Also no issue with the Windows-10-S it does not have the "S" at least mine does not. I have Windows-10-Home! period! Check out the full list of specs here, then try to find them on any other Lap for anywhere near this price! You will not be able to. I went for "Free" shipping because very expensive to get it faster, ordered on a Sat, received the following Sat! I guess a 4.9 because on board GPU is not gamer quality, but this isa home business computer anyway and does not cost $1,500.00 or more! T.W Anderson {:^)-{{{----[

Fast and Quiet
Just put into service for my business, replacing a 3-4 year old Windows 10 laptop with hard-drive and 4 GB memory. Old laptop is fine, but the lack of memory became an issue for work, where I have a lot of programs open. This one, with 16 GB memory and 1 TB SSD really cooks...quietly.First thing I noticed when opening the box was the finish of the case. It's black, but with a matte finish, so no fingerprints or slipperiness. Next was it's thin and relatively light for such a large laptop with a CD/DVD drive. Then, "Where's the battery?". It's inside the case, hooked to the motherboard. It will be a chore at battery-changing time.Once booted, since I was already a Windows 10 user (I do miss Windows 7), computer really got to work. Just entered my Outlook address, and my old OneDrive files were right there. When it came to downloading programs, though, there was a hitch - the machine ships in Windows S (for security) mode, which doesn't allow for programs not installed through the Microsoft Store. Still, it was just a couple guided clicks to remedy to a normal mode.Monitor is crisp, sound isn't Beats (which came on older HP laptops), it's adequate. Not tinny, but I could use some more bass with my Spotify and podcasts. So far, I'm very pleased with my purchase. I'll let you know if I'm ever not.

Windows 10 Growing Pains
This computer is a great buy. It has a DVD±RW, large screen, plenty of RAM, and lots of SSD drive space for the average person. I never look forward to setting up a new computer and uploading all the programs and copying all my files from one computer to the other. Only because it is a very time-consuming process. The first thing I always do upon setting up a new computer is download my free McAfee antivirus software from AT&T. McAfee wouldn’t download. Then I tried downloading FireFox and it too didn't download. I decided to open the computer firewall to see if that made any difference, it didn't. I doubled checked to make sure my system was set on Windows 10, it was. So I decided to throw in the towel and call HP technical support. That was a mistake, I probably should have called Microsoft Windows support instead. The HP guy sent me over to a software support group that was eager and ready to assist in fixing the problem. I just needed to sign up for the 1 year technical software support at the low price of $15 a month. I told the tech he can kiss my grits and I refuse to pay for support on a brand spanking new computer.I've been avoiding Windows 10 for years, so that’s probably my problem. I found a fix solution online. I had to go into Windows Security, then go to App and Browser Control and turn off Check Apps and Files. That fixed my downloading problem and I was able to download all the programs that I needed. Next the computer started intermittently losing the internet connection. I found a solution online for that problem too. In my case, I ended up doing an update on my network driver and rebooting the computer and that fixed the problem. The computer works perfectly now and it's my new primary home computer.Bottom line, it’s a great computer for the price and it would have been a shame if I had returned it due to a couple of issues that most buyers aren’t experiencing. HP will tell you that they’re only responsible for the hardware, not for 3rd party software. But they’ll be more than happy to assist you after you purchase their one-year software technical software warranty. HP never told me to go to Microsoft for an answer. Nor do I know for sure if Microsoft would have helped me for free. Here's what I do know after trying to find answers online. These problems have been around for years. So shame on Microsoft.I rate this HP laptop computer a 5 star for what you get at the price.

Great quality PC.
The computer is GREAT! One of the main reasons I bought this computer was for its hardware. It has 16GB of RAM and a great core processor. Which makes surfing the internet and downloading software very fast and easy. Also has a great SSD (1TB) which gives you ton of storage space. I also love the keyboard because the size of the screen (17.3"), it makes typing very easy along with the numeric keyboard. The screen display is also very good, it's not as sharp as some computer screens but it is still very good and clear. That's why I'm only giving this computer a rating 4 out of 5 stars. Still definitely worth the price. If you want fast internet and fast download, this is the laptop for you.
