Timely and Relevant Novel
The Resurrection of Hucklebuck JonesPeople talk about books that they cannot put down, but this one, I really COULD NOT PUT DOWN. The characters are craftily interwoven to prompt the reader to try to figure out (and to worry about!) the next move on each character’s part. The author’s description of social and (without giving too much away) ethnically segregated institutions and systems in the 1950’s is eerily true to life in my recollection of my own childhood in the deep South in that era. The novel’s conceptualization is timely and relevant to our current national tensions.I can’t wait for Dr. Wootten’s next novel!Jane R., Florida

Nice read for rainy day.
A little less plausible toward the end, but still enjoyable. Good plotting most of the book. Some characters a bit thin.

Interesting premise, well written
I really liked this book. It encompasses the experience of the Afro American in 1960's and documents from a white/Black man the massive hurtles to just living your life as a black man or woman in our society. I was outraged at the horrific treatment of the main character and intrigued by his ingenuity in overcoming obstacles. Very good read!

... read all three of Paul's books and would highly recommend all three
I've read all three of Paul's books and would highly recommend all three. You can't put them down once you start. Love how he involves someone from other books. Need to read them in order though. Can't wait for his next one. Get busy old friend!!!!Plus I'm not a person who reads so this speaks volumes for his books. Looking forward to your next one.

Great page turner Set during the civil rights era and election of JFK you just felt a great kinship toward the main character . A novel idea to turn the White man Black to endure the everyday racism of America .

Read this book! You will not be disappointed.
The characters, story line, and pace keep you engaged from the first page. If you have read the first two books you will reconnect with familiar names and places that enrich the story. I found that each book is better than the previous one.I'm looking forward to reading the next one.

Great prose! Great character development
Paul E. Wootten continue to enthrall. Great prose! Great character development. Twists to keep you turning those pages! It is a must read! Great gift! Great stand alone but even better when you start with his first books, Harvest of Thorns and Shunned.
