These Chrome plated strong Neodymium Magnet hooks from Madison Supply will make a beautiful addition to your refrigerator or file cabinet, and are even strong enough to pull duty on your tool box. These 12 pound rated magnets will hold the full 12 pound rated weight vertically from the underside of a thick steel surface. In a horizontal application (the side of a fridge), the strength diminishes about 2/3 due to shear forces. The 12 pound strength is suitable for, among other things: holding an apron or dishtowel on the fridge, holding a document and light jacket on a file cabinet, or holding an adjustable wrench on a tool box. The hooks thread into the magnet base, and will arrive disassembled. Any correctly sized thread can also be threaded into the magnet base to customize to your application. Magnets should only be used by adults - be careful, these magnets are strong!

They really ARE strong!
I love magnets and magnet hooks. I was afraid these would be weaker than the ones I already have because they looked smaller. I found them to be plenty strong for hanging cleaning tools from my dryer and miscellaneous things from my mudroom door. The base is about the size of a nickle. The screw-on hooks work great and I like that I could use a screw in place of the hook. They came nicely packaged with a plastic disk in between each magnet to prevent damage. Then there were wrapped in brown paper and bubble wrap. The only thing I would change is to make the hook loop wider. It's a little narrower than the ones I've been using, which makes it a bit harder to hook some of my cleaning tools. This is very minor and I still love them.I received the hooks at a discount for my honest opinion.

Good Enough
I like these enough that I've gone back for seconds. They do the job, but I've docked a star because they require two minor modifications:1) They scratch my refrigerator. I've fixed this by attaching a circle of clear packaging tape to the bottom of each one.2) I replaced the hooks with a machine screw from a hardware store, because the curved shape of the hooks is far too aggressive for use in a horizontal orientation.

Great Magnetic Refrigerator Door Hooks
As soon as I saw that the magnets were the rare earth (Neodymium) type I knew that they were just what I was looking for. The "super Magnets" won't come loose by accident. I use them to hang the kitchen towels that came from "Auntie Em's Kitchen" via Amazon of course and they work like a charm. These towels are good for getting a stray drop or two sometimes found on utensils from the dishwasher or for drying some hand washed pans etc. when you don't want them to sit in the drainer for a long time. The nice smooth finish on the Neodymium magnet hooks makes it easy to get Auntie Em's towels off the hook when you want to. This is a "double whammy" review for two products if I ever saw one!

Useful product
These hooks are great! My stove and fridge are next to each other without any adjoining counter space, and I wanted to hang cooking utensils on the fridge for easy access. The hooks are a good size for holding any utensil with a hole or hook for hanging, and they are plenty strong for my purposes. Other magnets will slide down the fridge over time, or will fall off when you open and close the fridge door, but these seem much more firmly attached. My fridge is smooth stainless steel in the front, but textured on the sides, and these hooks attach equally well on both surfaces. Now that I know how much I like them, I'll probably end up thinking of more uses for them and ordering more.

Strong and Stylish
Good product with a stylish appearance that does most of what I needed it to do. I was hoping they'd be just a tad stronger, as I'm not sure if they hold their advertised weight (I have a fluffy bath robe that weighs several pounds, and they can't quite hold it). However, perhaps that's due to the thickness of the metal I'm using them on, which may be a bit thinner than needed.

These have worked great.I initially got them to use on our cruise for more clothes hooks, which they worked incredibly well for. The cabin walls are all ferrous metal, so we had four more places to hang wet clothes, or more formal outfits. After that trip, I had the bright idea to use these to create a quick set of dual curtain rods for our door. Two pieces of light metal tubes and a hemmed curtain later, it's been working great and holding strong for nearly two years.

Very nice neat look, screw hooks to lock in and stick up.
looks great but 4 1/2 pounds should hold up oven mitts without any sliding. I can live with the sliding and I do recommend them but I had hoped they would really hold better. The looks over old plastic or other stick-on stuff is fantastic, so I do highly recommend.

Not so stong...
I purchased the 12lb hooks. While they are strong, they don't hold much. I have this attached to the metal front door and put my 1 year old sons winter coat on it and it starts to slide down. I'm pretty sure the coat doesn't weigh more than 5 pounds. It has however held our lighter jackets so I'm at least still getting used out of it.
