I recently replaced the broken plastic insert on my old patio door screen with these diecast screen door corner inserts, and I couldn't be happier. The original plastic insert had worn out from frequent use, but these metal inserts are a perfect fit. Installation was straightforward and can be done on either the top or bottom of the screen door. The quality is excellent, and the adjustment screw ensures a snug fit. Not only are these inserts durable, but they are also affordable, saving me the cost of replacing the entire screen door. My screen door now functions like new. Highly recommended!

We lived with our sticking, scraping, sliding screen door for way too long. I looked up the parts needed and the youtube how-to video. Looked pretty easy. I disassembled the lower rail of the door and extracted the broken plastic bracket, and tapped into place the replacement cast metal bracket, on both sides. Smooth sailing. Then came time to simply snap into place the wheel/spring assembly. two little tabs you spread and slip onto the 2 little nibs. NAH !!!! wquldnt go. I tried different screw driver blades to pry open the wheel bracket. tapped and twisted. No good. I double checked the video. "just simply spread the ends and snap it in" Hell Nooo. I ended up prying the wheel out of it's holder and then muscling into place the wheel holder with the spring, using a needle nose plyer, then I had to reinsert the wheel into it's spring-equipped bracket, then had to bend closed the two halves of the bracket over the 2 pins. Maybe i just misunderstood the "simple" video. Now I'm waiting for my pain meds to kick in to help my 74 year old back. So, I did it myself !! and the door slides and glides like new. And with it's new, metal bracket parts maybe it will hold up a while. I need a nap.

What can I say? My friends were having too much fun (beers involved) and walked through the closed screen door. This part was exactly what I needed for the repair. I was concerned I would need to replace the entire screen door at a cost of $200+ for an over sized door. It took me about 45 minutes to replace the part, but primarily because this was my first try at this. This new part is metal and much sturdier than the original plastic corner that was in the door. The door now works as good as new.

I hate that they make things out of pot metal like this, but it is what it is. I was able to replace some broken corners and get the screen back together with new rollers. It's kind of a poor design and I believe that the screen is a little bit too tall for the slot making it very difficult to get on the track and very tight on the rollers. Also, the sliding screen can tilt and bind as it slides open. It's not a very good design. I believe that if the door was just a little shorter, there wouldn't be so much stress on the rollers and things would work a lot more smoothly. Maybe if I get around to it, I'll take it apart again, gently miter off about 3/16 on each side and reinstall it.

I was fixing a door for my neighbor and after getting the original door apart, I discovered the manufacturer used Plastic Corner parts. Unfortunately, someone who tried to work on the door before me didn't know what they were doing and managed to break the finger and pins off of the plastic corner piece when trying to remove a couple of wheels from the bottom of the door. This ALL METAL corner was well made and came with a new adjusting screw. Retail Packaging with basic instructions was nice and it came with (2) Metal Corner Replacement parts in the package for a price that was about half the cost of the crappy Plastic ones. Great fit and installation went smooth as silk. I highly recommend these and would definitely buy them again. Also, if you are replacing them, try to use them on the bottom of the door as that seems to take the most abuse and accidental kicking, etc. Plastic is Okay on the top of the door if you have a choice, but Metal Corners all the way around will certainly stiffen up the door and help it last longer.

Definitely more durable than the plastic, nylon units. As others have stated, they really are not a drop in replacement. You may have to file down the casting ridge and open up the frame a bit for these to fit without a hammer. Most screen manufacturers aren’t very careful when cutting and assembling your original screen door, so there will probably be burrs and bent frame openings to deal with. The plastic units are a little more forgiving of this. I’ve read others using a hammer to pound these in, but remember if they do break later on in life when your teens throw a party while you’re out of town and a drunkard goes through the screen…..removing that broken piece that was pounded in will not be easy.

Come with 2pcs in package. My old door hardware screw adjuster was busted so door would drag along track. You can see in pic if you twist screw too much it breaks the corner insert so you're screwed. I used this with Prime-Line Products B 610 Screen Door Spring Tension Roller with 1-Inch Steel Ball Bearing Wheel as my original tension roller looked completely different. So this corner and wheel/spring combo work together. After removing screen from door, I hammered apart the two short lengths of the frame to reveal the original corner inserts which I pried out with a screwdriver. Warning! These corner inserts (new and old) are made of brass so they shear easily. You need to buy double the required amount because I hammered new part too far in frame and I had to pry new part back and it broke (I had ordered extra). The screw actually lined up proper with the original hole in the frame. Door now runs like new.
