Shimano FX, Spinning Fishing Reel, Front Drag

I bought this reel as I wanted a small reel for my Warbird travel specimen rod. I wanted light weight and small. This reel meets those needs and is superb.Lovely build quality as you would expect of Shimano with a smooth wind. I put 100m of 3.5lb line on to it but you could get 150m plus a bit.If you need a small reel for small pier specimen fishing, give this one a try.

Great reel, especially for the price, when I received my reel it was getting jammed when the spool went down, I was about to send it back but I seen the Return policy is receiving a refund 5-7 days after the seller get the item back 😂 so I decided to take the reel apart as I used to clean my old reels when I was younger, anyway I got to the gears and found a stray loose screw preventing the gears from rotating downwards, removed screw, no place for it to go, put it in a safe place, reel now works great, especially after my service 😂 5stars to me, 4 to shimano, 3 to the seller for not giving the reel a few rotations before sending 🎣

You get the Shimano quality for a very good price , well pleased

No issues with this product, it is light weight but able to cope well. For a start up this is perfect. And I would recommend.

The reels bail arm keeps flipping open and not reeling line in only had it 3 weeks

When I eventually received this from the supplier, after chasing twice as it was overdue and I had already waited over two weeks for it, when it arrived the box for the reel looked as though it had been open quite a few times before (almost ex display look about it). I was suspicious so I took a video of it and when I opened the box there was a strip of wax paper, the sort you get when you remove carpet tape from a roll and also a small airbag that had a big hole in it. The instructions for the reel were not neatly folded and crisp as you would expect with a new item but rather all crinkle and looked as though they had been opened before and not folded up again correctly. The reel itself was in an open plastic bag that was not sealed in anyway. The spool for the reel had an original label on it suggesting it at least was new. I am remain unconvinced that the reel was not ex-display. On contacting the supplier they said that the wax paper was 'packaging' and that the useless deflated airbag with a hole in it was proof that the bag had done its job! They said that the reel was new. No apology for tatty box, grubby instructions or very long wait for it to arrive. They did offer to accept it back and provide a refund but they did not provide any details of how to return it. I have advised Amazon that the query I have with the order is not resolved but I have not had a response in the last seven days. Overall a disappointing experience especially when I could have bought it cheaper elsewhere and only used amazon as I am a prime member and delivery was expected in 2 days.
