intelligent, personable, insightful, informative, and reflective
I am presently working on a historical/biographical criticism of this work. Thanks to my professor informing me of his arrival to our university,I met Mr. Taulbert when he visited my university as one of the keynote speakers for "Winning The Race" symposium to tell his story concerning race relations in my state of Mississippi. I also attended the in depth presentation of The Invitation. He was pleasant, intelligent, personable, and forthcoming. I also presented this book in class. It proved to be insightful, informative, and reflective with some astounding revelations. My most prevalent delight in reading this book was that it was written by a writer from the Mississippi Delta. He has proven to be a great inspiration to me to continue to strive for excellence, and to believe that there are extraordinary possibilities for us as a community.

An excellent and compelling book -- confronts the past head on
An excellent and compelling book -- confronts the past head on, and makes you think about what has changed and what hasn't - and how many more conversations about race still need to occur.
