Benross 41499 PTC Plug In Heater

I was very dubious about this product, it was a low cost claiming safety, warmth and little cost to use. In these times of energy costs I’ve come to expect the worst! This plug was delivered straight away, easy to use and it doesn’t provide loads of heat but a surprisingly large amount! It’s also been safe to use near a child and dog because whilst it becomes warm it doesn’t become too hot to touch.In order to save money I have been heating my water but leaving radiators on low because the smart meter was demanding loads for well heated radiators. I have had us in the lounge with an electric heater which works well but at bedtime the bedrooms are freezing. With this plug I can plan ahead and have them snug and leave it on for as long as wished because it doesn’t cost much.Like any fan there is a little noise but it doesn’t bother me. I am very pleased with how well the plugs work. I haven’t had them long but so far it’s been an excellent solution to this weather and this cost!

Really great little heater. Only one issue with it.If you get up to temp it will switch off and when you turn the stat up, the heater won’t work until the temperature cut out has cooled down.If you switch it off at the mains you will still have the same issue that it won’t work again until it has sufficiently cooled.

didn't like the noise. too loud .and it had a bad smell

This little plug in heater won't heat anything more than a small cupboard, which is great of you want a warm cupboard. It's also very - and I mean VERY - LOUD. It's so loud you can hear it in pretty much any room in the house. If it's plugged in upstairs, the noise is heard in the room below. Upshot is - not worth it, don't buy it.

yes it does smell - for a little while.Yes it is only suitable for a very small spaceNo it doesn't have a remote controlYes it is quite loud (but only) when on full speed - most fan heaters are.But we bought and used it to heat the small cabin on our boat, after having looked at the detailed information. Totally successful and the fact that we could turn the (UK) plug to right angles gave us more options for mounting it.Our cabin (which is NOT very draft proof) was warm and cozy and we never had to ramp up the heat setting beyond 20!It does what is designed to do!

Would like to give this item a higher rating but at the moment it is too early to judge properly based on what we purchased it for. Made in China as most things are nowadays but seems well built. Will definitely re evaluate the heater at a later date.Originally quite sceptical about the product claims and only purchased really on recommendation of a friend.Fact:- For its size it gives out a good rate of heat.Fact:- It is has an adjustable orientation, either upright or horizontal.Fact:- There is an inbuilt timer but personally I would never leave a portable heating device unattended. Carefully consider where this item is placed for use.Fact:- The heater has a temperature control to regulate its heat output.Fact:- When running at temperature it does use as stated 400watts or less so economical to run.It is my opinion that this heater would warm a small room adequately but think it would struggle with a larger space.We have purchased this item to heat part of our static caravan economically during the cooler periods of the season and will give a further review when tested in situ.The item was despatched and delivered before the due date and in good order.
