It does help me get to sleep
I dont use this pen for pain, but someone in the health business recommended it for using on a few acupuncture points to prepare for sleep, and I find it is very helpful. I also use it on the end of my thumbs to help clear a stuffy nose (not a cold). This isn't mentioned in the booklet but does work. The booklet incidentally has been improved greatly to the original one I purchased.
