Fabric dye is not just "throw dye on something and it's done". There is a process, and it depends on the type of fabric you are trying to dye. Rit has an entire how to on their site that's very detailed, check it out first and make sure you have the right supplies.My (pictured) had started to get fade a bit and bleach out due to sweat/etc. Since I wanted to make sure it was really well dyed, I used the entire bottle and did some extra extra long dyes. The hat came out SUPER black, it might look better now than it did new. 6 Months later, still looking great.

You NEED this.
Great for touching up black clothing, Easy to use, I would recommend wearing gloves, but it does not permanently stain your hands, it will eventually come off!! Or great for tye dying, many colors to choose from!

Can't get the black to take
I've used red and blue of this brand to dye certain things and works wonderful, but the black just doesn't stick to anything. Period. Read and did everything step by step in directions. Tried with salt, nothing. Vinegar, nothing, tried straight up dye with nothing added, nothing. Tried different water temperatures. Nothing. Tried spot treatment putting dye just on the spot needing the dye and let it set for a few hours. Nothing. Tried doing it in a bucket. Nothing. A washing machine. Nothing. Thought I was just stupid and doing it wrong somehow and had someone else try it (what im trying to dye is one polyester and one wool sweater) it didn't even work for them. I only bought two on here and bought others elsewhere thinking I just got a crappy batch. Nope.
