This replacement casket added a new life to my old pressure cooker!

What we really love about this gasket is that it is constituted of uncolored (unpigmented) durable silicone. We feel that we have chosen the right stove-top pressure cooker, partly because this gasket part is manufactured from unpigmented silicone. Excellent flexibility, durability, and specifically manufactured for the 8.5 Quart (or 6 Quart) T-fal pressure cooker. We have the 8.5 Quart pot, and absolutely love it: (T-fal P25144 Stainless Steel Dishwasher Safe, PTFE PFOA and Cadmium-Free, 10 / 15-PSI, Pressure Cooker, 8.5-Quart, Silver - 7114000516).

I ordered two gaskets so we have one ready if our cooker starts leaking steam again from wear. It's recommended to replace the gasket annually. Of course in reality I would imagine it depends on how often you use the cooker. We went a few years before replacing. You will know for certain when it's time to replace. The steam will be escaping from the gasket area. Good to have a new one on hand when this happens.

It was the right size for our 8.5 qt pressure cooker. The only drawback is it was $26. I will get the next one on the T-Fall site, they are only $7.99

So glad I order the original replacement ring. It fit like a glove. I been using my pot again, I can't do without it. Always buy the original maker and you won't have any problems it's worth the few extra dollars.

The plastic bag it was shipped in was entirely intact, undamaged, however, the product packing was torn, stained and appears to have been repackaged. Disappointed.

I saw a review from someone else who advised strongly that one might want to purchase another gasket just in case. More expensive than I wanted it to be but I agree. You never know when someone is going to stop making a product and then you are stuck with a pressure cooker that doesn't work. Same quality as the one that came with the pressure cooker.

Es el empaque original, y tal como lo trae la ola exprés cuando se compra, intenté comprar genéricos pero no son iguales, el empaque le funcionó a mi olla securite 5 de 6 litros, tal y como se ve en la foto del empaque pero por lo que leí le funciona a una 8, ya que los litros de la olla se mide en la alto y las tapas son iguales, sin duda el mejor empaque, ya usé mi olla con él y cerró muy bien

At first, it looks good and works well as expected from a Tefal product. However, smell of whatever you cook in the pressure cooker sticks to the gasket and no matter what you do, you cannot get rid of the smell! It is just like a sponge; absorbs and never lets go the smell. I hand washed it over and over, scrubbed it, put it in the dishwasher, soaked it in vinegar and even bleached it. Nothing could get rid of the smell. I also own a Calypso model Tefal pressure cooker which came with a black rubber/silicone gasket and never had such a problem with it. This gasket is such a huge disappointment.
