The URANTIA Book A brief description First published in Chicago in 1955, The Urantia Book is the fifth epochal revelation on our planet and a spiritual feast for hungry souls. Kindle download, reasonably priced and will get around to reading at some stage

This book is a MUST read and a life-time companion. It gives so much detail of why, when and how things are. After reading the Urantia Book for a number of years now (this is my second copy) I'd rate The Bible as one star or less and The Urantia Book as 5+ stars. If it is TRUTH you are looking for - read this book. It is also FREE on the Internet.

4 stars instead of 5 because the language construction is very dense for 2/3rds of it and requires careful reading. Such learned authors should have exercised greater consideration for their readers and used easier, uncontroversial, language. Urantia has been channeled to we-know-not-who-they-won't-say by sixth-sphere (this is not mentioned in the book) spirits. (There are currently thirty-six levels and the celestial heavens start at level eight. (Again not mentioned in the book. (They possibly don't know))). (Spirits don't know everything!). Many novel words are not defined and their meaning has to be inferred from their context. This allows for doubt and consequent argument. The life of Jesus is good, (remembering that spirits do not know everything and that channeling has the same reliability as dictation to a person with their own agenda), and correctly says that his mother was not a virgin, that he is not God, that he is not the son of God in the sense that that term is used by contemporary religions but is a son of God in that we are all sons/daughters of God with a divine mission however humble and mundane that may appear to us, His crucifixion does not save us but has ensured that we pay attention to his teachings even though they have been, and still are, extensively reported incorrectly, emphasizing the irrelevant, misinterpreting the true, and ignoring the important. Many others have suffered more excruciating deaths without being exalted and deified. His appearance after death was no different to what many spirits have achieved. He accomplished it better because of his greater spiritual development. As you have 'sought and found' far enough to find this book, (there is also an online readable version if you search), then you will want to search further for 'divinetruth' (yes, without a space).

This book deserves so much attention. I can't say I agree with all of it but it is certainly thought provoking. This is a well made, well printed copy. A must for any bookshelf. Where ever I travel I take a copy of this book, a bible and a prayer book.

The book is nice, the front very colorful but it is so big.

a great read only read the forward but nevertheless it will be interesting looking forward to reading the rest great value for money

Fiction is, more often than not, the tool used to relay a message. Children learn extensively about relationships, the rewards and risks of adventure, the ultimate rewards of kindness, the ultimate outcome of selfishness - all through fiction. Personal lives seldom have the scope of lives in fiction. Time passes from beginning to end during the reader or listeners rapt attention span, allowing the lesson to be understood and not scattered by distraction. Fiction is thus often times a better story than the truth. Often a story can be relayed or accepted better if the listener is not sure of the outcome. Fiction can be woven in a way where more information is relayed than a simple fact based story can tell. Those who wrote the Urantia Book knew this and their important message should not be dismissed due to the shape of the package. Take, for instance, the lessons relayed in the fictional series Star Wars. Does not Yoda, grumpy and disheveled and living in humble quarters, not exemplify many characteristics of a Service-to-Other individual? He has quirks, is reluctant, and people can relate. He also has a key role in a crucial battle between Good and Evil, and ultimately has this satisfaction. So it is often, in the Service-to-Other orientation. How could real life have stated this more effectively? The essential battle that takes place in 3rd Density entities, which is their orientation decision to either work with others and be empathetic or to go for the self, is very well relayed. The Urantia Book is such a story, very expertly woven and influenced without a doubt by many entities who wished to see this story told. Read it and appreciate it, and do not consider it a fabrication but rather an artistic description of the facts."
