Kokuyo Enpitsu Mechanical Pencil

This pencil is sweet. I like the simple refill and works smooth. I place my favorite 2B lead in and I go. This is a great pocket pencil!

It's a 2mm leadholder, clutch style, with no clip. Slender and slightly cushiony material. Good quality, solid and decently heavy.

Replacement for a less liked instrument. This pencil is comfortable to use.

I admit I love pencils. I’ve tried all Kinds of brands but for me the Kokuyo Enpitsu are the best. They are comfortable, and reliable. The grip is just soft enough to keep it from slipping in hand but not so spongy that it feels awkward. In general Japanese mechanical pencils work better. I have given this one to my 11 yr old and honestly seen an improvement in his handwriting. I think it’s the triangular shape. It fits his hand better.

I liked the look of this pencil, and the grip was nice. I also like the thicker lead size. However, the lead it came with was super smudgy. I ended up giving the pencil away.

Just as good as you would think a Quality Japanese pencil would be. Warning, you don’t remove cap to add lead, just drop lead into the tiny hole IN the cap.

I teach architectural drafting and I really like this pencil. First off, it feels great to hold as the body is all smooth plastic with no metal surfaces where your hands touch it. It has a decent weight, towards the light side, but not too light. There no pocket clip at the top. Most of all, it's 1.3mm. Until about 1 year ago, I didn't even know 1.3mm even existed. Because of the width of the lead, it creates beautiful bold, crisp line, just remember to hold at 90 degrees to the writing surface and keep the lead point flat. I will be recommending this one!

Everyone who tries these pencils, love them and want one for themselves. They're comfortable to write with and the heavier "lead" makes easier to write with and results in far fewer breaks.

Excellent quality for the price. I use it on construction work and it's perfect. It would be better if it had a clip.
