Ain't nuthin' gonna try to bite through Ben's!
Ben's 100. I used to use that stuff like cologne back in the day. Now Ben's has come out with Ben's 30 (30% DEET as compared to 100% DEET). It smells bad, there's just no way around it. And it's very oily on the skin - and doesn't dry. As a result you look like you just slathered Crisco all over you. The upside? Ain't no bug anywhere that's gonna attempt to bite you when you're wearing this stuff (and that would include your significant other). I would highly recommend NOT leaving this on your skin for an extended period of time because I'm sure that your skin would probably end up falling off. Potent stuff! If you wanna keep the critters off you, and don't care what you look or smell like then Ben's is for you.

BEST bug repellent!
Best bug repellent! Works better than any other brand! Be careful when applying to avoid excess skin exposure as some people have an adverse reaction to it.

It works, but it's not amazing
It does repell mosquitoes most of the time. I still get a very occasional bite, but overall it replells them for a long time. I really dislike how badly the pump works. It only works if it's straight vertical but that's difficult when you want to spray your ankles. Additionally the scent is not very pleasant and definitely feel like I have to wash my hands right away.

DEET!
It's DEET. That awful, toxic, chemical wonder that mosquitoes and ticks and chiggers all seem to hate. While I'd prefer eucalyptus oil or similar for the scent, DEET works. Just don't inhale it. I've traveled with it a few times too. I'm always careful to pack it in a couple ziplock bags just in case, but it's never leaked or given me any issues.

Kept the bugs away in the Peruvian jungle
Took this on a trip to machu pichu and to Ecuador- best bug repellent Iโve ever used. Not a single bite!

bottle leaks & makes it messay.
It seems to work well; however, it is messy to use because if the bottle lays on its side or I tilt the bottle even a little to use, liquid leaks around the cap base. I try to catch it so I can then just rub it on. It is messy

Does the job!
Just got back from Kenya and this product worked great to keep the ever present mosquitoes away. My friends had other products and ended up using mine because it was way more effective. Also seems to last way longer than the store stuff. It smells strong and can make your eyes burn but didn't get bitten by a single tsetse fly or the hundreds of other insects on safari!

Ben's Works - But It Isn't Oder-Free
Having tried a variety of insect repellants, I bought Ben's. It seems to work well. No bug bites, which is the real test. A couple of notes: 1. It is not oder-free. It smells like insect repellant. This isn't bad, but Ben's makes a big thing of being water based and there for allowing you to "smell the outdoors." Well, yeah. The outdoors infused with insect repellant. (Remember, though, the reason you bought was not as perfume but to avoid bug bites. 2. Someone somewhere slapping a BIG price/inventory tag on the back of the bottle. This totally blocked all directions and warnings. Sigh.. I hope I'm using it correctly. Do your research on cautions before you buy, because the container may not help.
