Good but could have been great
There is nothing I can say that was bad about this adaption, it is panel and line for line from the movie drawn in the Manga style, but I was a little disappointed that there was not more panels for the fight between Luke and Vader. I Just wish the illustrator put more of their own stamp on the fight I mean Lightsaber battle in manga style I mean that is just betting to be done why not do it. The only scenes where I think the he is add his own stamp is after Vader tells Luke "I am your father", "Search your feeling you know it to be true", there is a short page where Luke connects the dots in his head but that is it, everything else is what you saw in the movie. Nothing wrong with that but I just expected a bit more. Epically as in the Return of the Jedi manga you could read the characters emotions by the close up of the characters eyes.

Great series!
These manga books are great interpretations of the films. In most panels they are almost direct reproductions of what you see on screen but in a manga style - lots of panels of various sizes creating a very dynamic visualisation of Lucas' tale.So much better than the 'life-like' Marvel versions.Because Manga is read right to left these western versions have been 'flipped' which means the action takes place coming from the opposite direction to what fans may expect. However, for me this is simply a really cool quirk of the genre.

Mangatastic
Great conclusion to the Empire Strikes Back series. Obviously the story remains true to the films, but the art work is fantastic. By taking such startlingly recognisable images and characters and giving them a manga-makeover Kazuya Kudo has created a great addition to the plethora of Star Wars paraphernalia, and hopefully some younger readers will find these and use them as a way into the classic trilogy.
