Nice large cage
Nice big cage that can become two sections if needed. Paint chips easily though.

Cage is tiny. NOT for ferrets.
Absolutely minute. Says it’s for ferrets and bunnies but that’s a joke. I‘m in college bringing two ferrets and was looking for a cage a little bit smaller than their oversized FerretNation cage from home and liked the look of this cage. Could not for the life of me find any review for it anywhere on the web, so figured it couldn’t be that bad. Pictures are bad and make it look larger than it is, and it specifically advertises as a cage for ferrets. This is a joke. This cage is probably a great size for a single rat, or a guinea pig or something. It’s smaller than my dorm mini fridge. Keeping just one ferret in this thing would be cruel and inhumane. I was concerned immediately upon seeing it but decided to complete assembly before making any decisions. It was easy to put together, but chips of paint came flying off the whole time. I hung up a ferret hammock in it to better demonstrate its size. I will be returning it. Please, for the love of god, if you have a ferret or similar, don’t buy this. And please, for the love of god, if you’re the seller reading this, remove “for ferrets” from your description.EDIT: Seller reached out to offer a full refund with no need to return, etc. Not sure what to do with it now, but might use it to keep ferret kibble & treats out of the reach of my two hungry men. Great customer service & fast shipping, cage was just totally inappropriate and poorly advertised.

Flimsy, cheap, but decent size for the price
I bought this cage for my rats, after seeing reviews that it was pretty small for ferrets, I thought it was a good choice for a couple of rats! Size-wise this cage is decent for how much I spent, but the plastic pieces to hold it together were super cheap!! I broke multiple connectors trying to put this thing together and the instructions were so obscure I had to run trial and errors with the assembly. It took me 2 hours to put this thing together and I broke 4 of the connectors trying to do so.Good thing they sent zip ties because I needed them since the broken parts were essential for the thing to hold together! The shelves were hell to figure out and fit into the cage as I was building it, I thought maybe it was my own doing but I wouldn’t know because the instructions gave 5 very simplified steps, so simplified I couldn’t tell what I was suppose to do, where shelves went, or how to put the covers on the shelves correctly.I wish those parts didn’t break on me, I now have a slightly flimsy cage that’s held together by zip-ties, not exactly what I was hoping for

Good for small pets
Love this cage…. My favorite enjoy it. It was good exercise for her as well. She passed away. Sold it at a yard sale. The young lady loved it for her rats… and it’s easy the clean

C&C cage for rats. Surprisingly decent.
This can be a good cage for rats if you're clever about it and make some modifications. I've had it for about 6 months and it's worked fine, now I'm buying another expansion. The main appeal of this cage is that you can connect the cage grids in any way that you want and you can buy multiple of these cages in order to make a single large cage. I feel that the amazon listing doesn't do a good enough job explaining this unless you are already familiar with c&c grids. One single unit is going to be too small for just about any animal so I'd recommend buying 2 and then you'll have enough grids* to combine them in order to make a 2x2x2 cube. It will be 28" on each side and 12.7 cubic feet of cage space. For other cages of a similar size, $160 isn't a bad price, and from there you can always upgrade it again by buying another unit. (I'm upgrading mine to be 2x3x2)(*some of the grids have a gap in them that is intended to go inside the cage. You can easily block this gap by zip tieing one of the narrower cage pieces that are included over the hole. Then it can be used as a normal exterior piece)I don't use any of the ledges or ramps inside the cage like they do in the picture, instead, I fill the cage with hammocks, ropes, etc.The zip ties are your friend, make sure you use them to connect the grids for added stability. (probably will need to buy some extra zip ties to replace them every once and awhile if your rats are naughty like mine they'll chew through the zip ties occasionally)Also, you'll need some kind of metal clips to secure the doors as they are pretty easy for an animal to push open otherwise. You'll also want something to put in the bottom of the cage (coroplast, acrylic sheet, etc) to cover the wires because a wire floor on a cage is bad for animals to walk on. Then some kind of bedding ( I use fleece cage liners) to go on top of that.Overall I'd probably still recommend a critter nation cage over this one, but I couldn't find any of those available when I bought this and this cage works pretty well as an alternative if you know what you're doing.

Not worth the price
This cage is cute but it is way smaller than it looks in the pictures. It is definitely not worth the price. It also took a long time to put together. The directions are not very descriptive and you have to figure it out. The description says this cage is for ferrets and it is NOT a good cage for ferrets because it is too small.

I don't understand all the bad reviews
I'm very thankful for the review I had read that discredited the bad reviews, and in pretty good detail. I bought because of that and I'm glad we did. It was bought for my son's two rats and it works great. By eldest son put it together and had no problems what do ever and it probably took him about 30 to 45 minutes to do so. One of the white plastic pieces did break, but they had sent extra and my son did state he had to get a little forceful and that's why it did. It comes with a hammer, we gave it to my two year old. I don't know why it has that hammer, I don't recommend using it. We didn't even bother. So I do recommend it, I think it's super cute and works well for our little critters.
