The Art of Mouse Guard 2005-2015 (1) Hardcover – August 18, 2015

Big fan of the series and couldn't wait to own the book showing all the behinds the scenes sketches and concept designs. This book didn't disappoint! I didn't happen to look at the measurements before I ordered but expected it would be about the same size as the other hardcovers in the comic series. I was shocked when the book arrived and it was 1ft x1ft across and not only is it not 224 pages like listed on the Amazon page but it is a WHOPPING 368 pages! It was way bigger than I expected and packed cover to cover with way more art than I expected and even had dozens of photographs of building models the creator made for reference while drawing the series. Very cool! The book was done with a very high production value and it is now a cherished part of my art book collection and one I am sure I will flip through many times in the future. I would absolutely recommend getting this book if you're a fan of the series! And if your not a fan of the series this would be a great way to get a behind the scenes peak at the world of Mouse Guard and I'm sure you would want to read the stories when your finished looking through it.

If you are a GM for the roleplaying game this coffee table-sized book is indispensable. You will need this for the extra sketches of mouse clothes for drawing any NPC characters your players encounter. I would have preferred more pages devoted to just that, but I paid the preorder price, so I certainly can't complain.

As a huge fan of David Petersen and an artist myself, this is one of the finest art books on Mouse Guard I've ever read. One of the most beautifully bound books out there which is huge and heavy, but worth the price. It goes into detail on the history on the creative process of his books and the character development which was fascinating.

If you are a fan of Mouse Guard, or art books in general, don't hesitate to add this book to your collection! The cover itself is a work of art, with multiple finishes that feel very nice in your hands, and the collections of artwork cover a large range of his work. There is plenty of dialogue as well, detailing the author's life and the background of the world of Mouse Guard. It's a real treat for any fan of Petersen's work.

Amazing book. Big, colorfull, well writen and scanned. This is the perfect artbook for Mouse Guard.Ranging from early sketches to book covers, pages and little models that David Petersen made, this book is a must have for every fan of the series.

As always David Petersen delivers awesome art and great behind the scenes. This is a great purchase if you are a fan of the series or just comic art in general. My only complaint which is very minor is i wish there was a little more behind the scene of his coloring process, but like i said minor still a awesome book.

I am blown away. I had no idea this book was so big and heavy. I am used to the smaller Mouse Guard books. I love paging through each page. My grandchildren love it too. Simply beautiful. My favorite book ever up there with my Firefly big. Leather book. Buy it!

Beautiful book. Loved reading all the background and artists and production notes as well as the art. Wonderful book if you even liked mouseguard at all. Great purchase.

I'm a huge MOUSE GUARD fan and have been collecting it in comic form since the first issue of FALL 1152, as well as in hardcover form since the publication of that same miniseries in the HC format. Petersen's work is brilliant, but it's clear from this volume why he's also so infrequent with his releases. The amount of work and detail that goes into each volume is staggering, and it wasn't until I opened this up and flipped through it that I realized that many of the settings in the MOUSE GUARD series also exist as scale models that Petersen hand creates to use as reference for his drawings. The book itself is a large format hardcover with very nice production values, befitting of the brilliance and beauty of the artwork within.A must-read for both fans of MOUSE GUARD and for people who enjoy seeing how things are created. If you like watching documentaries or listening to audio-commentaries on movies, this is the kind of book that gives you that level of insight into the creation of one of the most wonderful comic books of the last 10 years.

This art book has really surprised me. I was not expecting it to be as big as it is. Amazon's item description of "224 pages" is way off the mark. This book actually has *367* numbered pages. I thought it would be the same shape and size as a normal Mouse Guard book. However, this giant is over an inch thick and I'd estimate about 30x30cm square. It weighs a LOT, and the contents are CRAMMED full of things to look at, such as line art, sketches, full page reprints and full colour prints. There are old notes and page layouts, models of mouse houses and commentary by artists. The third portion of the book is my favourite, with limited edition prints and front covers, and some guest artwork. It is in hardback form, with beautiful sturdy, glossy pages and an aesthetic look throughout. Even the inside cover has a fantastic print on it. Truly, this is a collector's item. If you are a Mouse Guard fan, you should do everything you can to buy a copy of this. The only problem is where I'm going to put it, since it's too tall and wide to fit on my bookshelf.

This is a gorgeous book. The book is massive and well worth the money. I love the pictures. There are David Peterson drawings in here of prototypes and follows his journey of drawings from the concept to today. As a fan of Mouse Guard this book is absolutely fantastic.
