On opening the package, I was wholly unimpressed because the noodles appeared to be a small bundle at the bottom of the bowl. I went ahead and made the package because I’d ordered it from Japan, so may as well give it a go. What I had *forgotten* was that when the noodles are actually deposited in the bowl as part of the processing (instead of made as a patty and then inserted into the bowl), this is how the noodles look because there's no airy gap under the noodles. Once the noodles were made, it smelled fabulous and tasted amazing. I’m pleased to have found this instant ramen bowl set, even if it means I have to import it!The package contains noodles (in the bowl), a package of toppings (bamboo, leek, and a slice of narutomaki - that swirly white and pink thing), a package of seaweed, and a package of liquid soup base.There is NO powdered soup in this instant bowl. As a result, the soup has a much smoother taste to it. The noodles are a little more fine than in your average instant noodle bowl, but not quite as thin as angel hair noodles. The toppings are minimal, but have the advantage of having good flavor and texture. The bamboo was just a little crunchy, which is how it’s supposed to be! I’ve never been partial to the bowls that have carrots or corn in them, so the focus on the classic toppings was actually a positive for me. If you are of a mind to make the bowl fancier, the soup stock of this instant bowl is absolutely smooth and nice enough that half a boiled egg and/or some thin slices of pork or beef would complement the flavors.Instructions on the bowl say to pour the package of toppings in the bowl and add water to the line. Do NOT put the soup base in, yet. Instructions on the bowl say to leave the soup package on top of the lid while the noodles are cooking (“if you put the soup base in before the noodles cook, then the noodles will not separate” is a warning printed on the soup package). Wait four minutes, remove the lid, stir the noodles to separate them, and add the soup base. Stir some more to dilute the soup base in the water, and enjoy! Some of the best instant ramen I've ever tasted. Real good quality, thin and chewy noodles. The soup tastes amazing, and comes with an array of toppings. Items were shipped correctly.
