While i really want good massage, i need good heat due to having raynauds. how’s the heat function? is it far infrared?

It actually gets really hot but it ended the heat at the beginning of the 15 minute cycle. By the end my feet are nearly burning!

Is this for men and women, or women only (based on size)?

It is bigger than it looks it pics. I am a man with a size 13 foot and it works great. I imagine if I had a foot 2 or 3 sizes larger, it would still have enough room for my foot.

Does this massage the top of the feet?

This product did nothing but bounce the feet around hurting top bottom sides etc. We would not recommend tyhis or any other foot massager!!

Does this machine, as illustrated in 2nd picture, really have 2 rolling kneading devices - one for the balls of the feet, the other for the arch?

I’ll share with you what I do know. The opening is basically one size. I am a size 9 in women’s shoes. Therefore I can more my foot around to get a really good massage. This machine will give you a great kneading in your arch and the balls of your feet. You may have to move your foot forward or sideways, just a bit, until you find the right spot. Then it’s pure bliss. I only use the Refresh mode and the Relax mode. The Health Care mode is very, very intense. Hope this helps!
