The Literal Insanity of the Drug World Followed by Miraculous Redemption
If you've got the guts to face reality head on, this is one book you won't want to miss. My review, on the other hand, may strike you the wrong way. There are a lot of well deserved accolades given Into the Darkness Out Into the Light by true believers, Christians in understandable awe of the power of God to redeem even the "worst" sinner among us...but mine is quite possibly the first review by a reader who is a follower of a non-Christian religion. And I still have to give Grant Cole's autobiographical journey Five Stars. There's simply no other way to rate his work.As insensitive as it may seem to some, I could not help laughing uproariously at some of the scenes. It may be graveyard humor, or close to it, but that's just the way the insanity of the situations struck me. I mean, come on. The girl hanging out in a big time drug pusher's apartment turns out to be the daughter of an IRS agent who packs a Glock and also works for the DEA, resulting in her car being immune from search and seizure by the police, and all the dope fiend can think of to ask her is, "How big is the trunk?" Saw that one coming a mile away! Try the chapter focusing on the author's belief (that he holds to this day) that God Put That Bag of Drugs Down My Pants? I'm not saying it didn't happen just that way, mind you; I just had a tough time picking myself up off the floor from laughing so hard.By contrast, the passages where Cole reaches the point of literally facing his own demons aren't one bit funny. There are get-down-in-the-mud, shootout-at-high-noon, Light versus Dark, and may Soul be saved when Soul is finally ready, Amen.Overall, the entire book is worth reading and then some. If it isn't already under consideration for production as a major movie, it should be--and, unless I miss my guess, probably will be. My recommendation? Read it now. That way, down the road a piece, you'll be able to say, "Yeah! I knew Out Into the Light when it was only a book!"

A worthy read
I bought this book because I know the author. Well, I should say that I have met him and have talked to him at church on more than one occasion. However, until reading this book, I had no idea just how great a man he is. This book is truly a page turner! I was instantly caught up in the story of a young boy and his parents and the introduction of drugs and alcohol at far too young an age. The story unfolds in both the physical and spiritual world as a fight for life and death ensues. If you have a few hours to set aside, I encourage you to grab a cup of your favorite beverage (for me it would be Earl Grey tea), get cozy, and read this incredibly well written testimony that you won't soon forget.

Great testimony to what can & wants to do in ones life!
Grant Cole is a personal acquaintance for 45 yrs. The story is real, the story is powerful. The story is one mans journey on “his” path & how God allowed him, by his own choices, to get to a place that he would hear Gods voice. After hearing Gods voice & choosing to follow him, the story turns into a wonderful story of the servant of God.A must read!

Reaches into your soul
I haven’t actually read this book but my nephew did so I’m writing his review for himBc he’s currently in prison! I sent it to him there and he said it was life changing. He said the book is AMAZING and he said “this was God working through you to send me this book!”. It really really touched and I’m hoping it will continue to helpHim on his path to staying clean when he gets out. So thank you to the author for giving himHope!

You've given me hope
I'm the mom of a 24 year old daughter who has been an addict for 5 years. She is currently in jail and has been in most recently for 6 months. This all related to crimes of stealing and burglary from her addiction and a revocation of her probation. A court date is set this month to determine sentencing. We come from a family of believers, but somewhere along the way she got lost and succumbed to the devils lies. Although still in jail, she has expressed her love of God and how she wants to keep following Him. She attends church and all of the bible studies they have, and I pray that this is what wakes her up to the Lord's will for her as it did for you. Your book has given me hope and I will never forget your words when you were asked what your one goal was that you wanted to seek ye 1st the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and leave the rest of my mess to Jesus!

Amazingly, Abundantly clear, honest and filled with hope for those who are suffering with addiction and their families
Can't begin to say enough about this book. It's is amazing and so well written from a down to earth, this is me, kinda way...... God's mercy and grace is awesome. Thank you for writing this book, I have not been able to put it down. Very helpful information in the " refection" sections - I"m so glad those were in there, as it gives a parent who is dealing with a child with addiction extra encouragement and wisdom. This book has definitely had an impact on the way I will look at addiction in the future. Again thank you for sharing this part of your life, your testimony, and the hope that fill these pages- I am ordering 2 more for 2ppl in jail right now who, I know are suffering with addiction and I pray that God reaches through the pages of this book in a way that impacts their lives so they will come to know Jesus as their Savior and never be the same.

For such a time as this.
Timing is everything. Grant Cole’s daughter-in-law EB is our niece so we knew about this book. Several had read it but for some reason I never picked it up. Now it was my time. I absorbed every page. It brings you hope. Grant has a way of getting a very serious subject across while still making you laugh. He just tells it like it is.

Loved it!!
Such an awesome testimony of how Amazing our God is. Love how God can take all of our messes and turn them into messages. At my church (Freedom Church in Acworth, Ga) we always say, we know we are all jacked up and that's why we NEED the grace of God. Thank you Lord for sending your son, Jesus Christ on behalf of all of us imperfect, jacked up people. Great book, a must read for everyone of all ages, gender and backgrounds.
