This is fantastic. I wish I would've bought a magnetic pin ...
This is fantastic. I wish I would've bought a magnetic pin cushion years ago. I don't have to worry about knocking over a box of loose pins because the whole box fits on this magnet, and I don't have to pause my sewing to stick pins into a cushion because this magnet is so strong, as long as you chuck the pins in its general direction they'll stick to it. I bought a box of 100 pins and stuck all of them on top of this magnet without a problem. I could probably even fit more, but they wouldn't be stuck as firmly and I would start to worry that they'd fall off and get lost. This pin cushion also has little rubber or silicone pads on the bottom to keep it from sliding around on the table, and the weight is heavy enough that it won't go flying if you bump it with your hand or your fabric while sewing. The little box for extra pins is handy as well. I keep hand sewing needles in it so I have my needles and pins all in one place.

Love the cover
This is a great little magnetic pincushion. I love the cover concept. I didn’t think I’d have a need for it but we babysat a cat recently that loves to get into everything. Having a cover on it so that I can have it out close at hand but not have to pay attention constantly to see if the cat gets into it is awesome. I imagine it would be the same with children. So convenient having a little slot to put the pins into. The pins align very nicely for easy pick up.

Works great!
I was trying to use the magnetic bowls but kept stabbing my self when reaching in to get a pin. I got these and they work great. Holds the pins in one direction and are easy to grab. Nice plastic cover to store them when not in use.

Great pin caddy
I love this pin caddy. It holds my pins securely so they are available when I need them. No more pins falling to the floor only to disappear and be found much later by bare feet. It holds more than enough for a project in the top (I think I have about 100 pins on the top), magnetic portion and holds at least 200 more pins in the "hidden" container underneath (while the description says it's hidden, it's not really - it's just stored securely underneath the magnetic portion). The cover fits securely over the top for safe storage and transport and fits on the bottom, under the storage well, when the caddy is in use. I'm not crazy about the pins that came with the caddy they are rather dull and tend to snag the fabric. Since I already had pins that I like, I bought the caddy as a place to store them.

Don't know how I lived without this in my sewing room!
The idea behind this is truly excellent. When I was a teenager I thought having a wrist pincushion was mighty brilliant, but this magnetic pin caddy far exceeds brilliance where keeping track and picking up pins is concerned. First, it comes with a certain number of flathead type pins filed neatly in the little side drawer, but they aren't the type of pins I normally use, so those were immediately stuck away in my old tomato pincushion. Second, this is a hard plastic, and a hefty dish with a powerful magnet in the bottom. Third, I would be lying if I said I didn't go around the house dropping all kinds of pins, paperclips, nails, other metal doodads, and little bits in order to test the magnetic reach of the caddy. I really LOVE tossing pins in the general direction of it while sewing - pins sometimes make a strange arc and realign themselves in the center of the tray right next to all of their friends. It's amusing and much more fun than I had in middle school home ec class, where not surprisingly, they discourage pin tossing antics. Finally, I don't recommend or condone the casual throwing about of pins and other sharp, small objects, but if you must then make sure the small children and animals are properly supervised and out of harms way.

Great pin magnet
This pin magnet comes with some small pins. As I get older, I tend to use long pins which I can see and insert/remove easily. This is great if you are sewing and need to remove pins as you go. Just keep the magnet close by, and you can just drop each pin on it, without concern about aim. And, as a clutz, I do sometimes turn over a whole container of pins. You can imagine my panic, as I have pets in the house! So I can grab the magnet, crawl around, and pick up every last pin. Also good for "sweeping the area" either before or after a project to be sure there are no nasty surprises for little feet (either of the child or pet variety).

MIRACLE DOER
This is my new best friend. Everytime I sewed, I knocked over my pin container in a flourish. Every. Time. After 10 minutes of hunched over scrambling, shooing away fur babies, I would manage to get (what I thought at the time) all of them, and then spend the next week almost stabbing myself on some wayward pin that I missed.Enter this miracle. I still knock my pins over with a flourish, but now, they stay put! The container is heavy so it's not as susceptible to flight and when it does fall, the magnet is strong enough to keep them put. I also love the additional storage at the bottom. This thing holds a surprising amount of pins. Just beware, your pins will be slightly magnetized! I've pulled one pin off the table only to have it bring its friends. The hole on top also keep the pin holder from pushing back at you when you try to close it, as the air has somewhere to escape to.

Great product
Love this caddy. I love that the pins line up straight on it so I can easily grab them without getting poked. I love that I can easily just drop it over it and it will grab it and line it up instead of pushing the pins in a pushpin. I love that I can just wave it over where I dropped a pin and it will get it when I can’t find where it fell. I have 250 quilting pins in it right now and it seems pretty full but I’m sure it will fit a little more in it plus the ones on top I’m currently using. Definitely holds more than my tomato cushion did so that’s a plus. Also it came with a few pins that they show in the picture.

One of my most used tools
I can't praise enough this small tool: lovely colour, strong magnet, clever design (the middle slit is useful). I am using it everyday. I love the little compartment for tiny accessories.

Handy, has extra storage, and has the great safety feature of automatically aligning pins - no pricking fingers!
Loving this pin caddy! I've always used the classic tomato pincushion, which is okay, but this gadget is exceptional. I never have to worry about stray pins, as it pretty much nabs the pin out of my hand as I hover over it, with little chance of dropping a pin anywhere near the thing. If I do drop a pin, I just pick up this caddy and run it over the area, and it picks it up right away. Two other great features, other than it's magnetic, is that the magnets inside keep the pins perfectly aligned, so they're not all willy-nilly,and there's no chance of being pricked if you grab pins by putting your finger in the centre groove. The other feature I really like is the handy little storage drawer built into the bottom. It's a great place to keep more, or even different pins or needles.
