Six pens for $10.95. I really didn't expect much at that price, but it also was not much to lose, and I wanted to find out. I don't know if calling them "parallel" pens is an attempt to cash in on the Pilot Parallel pen line, but these are completely different. And, of course you can do "gothic" styles with them, but I prefer Italic as a general description of a square, chisel-cut nib. Some extremely preliminary reactions, since they just arrived this afternoon. First, that arrival. They had been promised for between 10/26 and 11/16, and I just assumed they were coming by ship from wherever, but here they are on 10/20. What you immediately notice is that these are real fountain pens, with italic nibs, not cartridge pens with an adaptor. Whether that's good or bad is up to you, but I like it. I frequently want to try new inks and colors, of which there a lot more available in bottles than in cartridges, and I've always had trouble with the adaptors leaking. The plunger fill mechanism is screw activated and seems sturdy enough so far. The 6 nibs, marked from .7 to 2.9 appear to be roughly comparable to the range from F to B4 in an Osmiroid set (if you're old enough to remember those!), although I think the 2.9 is slightly broader than a B4. I've only doodled on scratch paper so far, and only with the .7 and the 2.9, so I don't really know how well they will do on better paper. My first reaction is that the .7 doesn't have a lot of variation between thickest and thinest lines. That's to be expected in a fine point, but it feels as if it might have been sharper. I'll try them all on good paper, and add an update here if needed. At first I thought it was a problem that there is no label or color code to indicate which pen is which, but it turns out you can see the point well enough through the clear caps to tell. I may still add some sort of label of my own just to be able to pick up the one I want in a hurry. So my opinion right now is that these six italic pens for $11 are a real bargain, and much better quality than I expected. We'll see how that holds up.

Smooth writing, be aware of a defect, but seller is good
These pens are nice and easy to use, provided you're familiar with fountain pens at a basic level. The main body of the pen can't be filled with ink due to a decorative cutout in the side, but the converters are fine. The chiseled tips of the nibs are nice. They provide a clean edge for your writing, but aren't so sharp that they'll catch the paper. Great for casual calligraphy! The defect I mention happened with my batch. One of the pens had a leak around the nib. Since it was a slow leak, I could still use the pen, but letting it sit with any ink in it meant the cap would fill up with ink. I contacted the seller and they were kind enough to refund me for the pen.

Good dollar value!
These have a nice selection of graduated sizes of nibs. They write smoothly, so no ink flow problems. These are not sturdy pens, so caution needs to be taken when filling. Good value for the price.
