It came in a really nice package. Really sleek and compact design—super fast and secure. It came with both a USB-C and a USB-A cable, both high quality. The read/write speeds are impressive (you can see the comparison to my Mac Mini’s internal storage in the pics). I mainly got it for the fingerprint security, which makes protecting sensitive data super easy. A couple of minor things: the touch sensor can be a little hit or miss at times, and the device does get warm during use—but honestly, that’s expected given how fast and compact it is. Overall, I love it and definitely think it’s worth the money.

After receiving the Samsung T7 external SSD drive yesterday of course I wanted to test it out with my electronics as some people had some negative experiences with it. It worked with my Samsung Galaxy S21 phone. The Android software link is only for older model phones, but don't feel I need it anyway as I don't plan to keep anything sensitive on it. Then used it with my older iPad Pro, I didn't try to use Mac software link. Worked just fine. I haven't tried it with MacBook Air M1 chip, but expect as it worked with iPad Pro it should be fine. I used it on my older Windows 10 Pro laptop and held my breath as some had problems with the Windows Pro version, but again plug and play and it worked fine right off the bat. I transferred data no problem. Speed was nice. This drive is quiet. So far love it! Will update this review if there are problems.

The Samsung T7 Touch Portable 2TB is fantastic. I got this because I need to turn my laptop into my main file repository for a couple of months of field work, and then copy roughly a GB of working documents back to my desktop mega-sized drive when finished. Worked right out of the box - plugged it into the desktop and launched the Windows app to quickly set up a password and add a couple of optional fingerprints ( suggest adding two as insurance against an ugly power tool accident). I then plugged the credit card sized drive into my laptop and seamlessly turned this into my master document repository. NOTE: I would recommend using a cloud-based backup for ALL of your files since a portable drive like this could fall out of your pocket while summiting Mt. Everest, sailing the Nile, or hot air ballooning over Cappadocia. Even those more sedentary might fine the puppy has chewed through the case like a dog toy.

This drive is stunningly fast, small, sold as a rock build. I use it every day. Besides the build quality being top notch, the device is extremely fast (the fastest external SSD I've owned) -- but make sure you have Gen 2 USB-C support to get the most out of the drive (or even Thunderbolt if you have it). Here's the equally impressive part of this device. The fingerprint security is operating system and device independent. What does this mean? I use this device on my Windows machine and unlock it with my fingerprint (or password) -- and also use it on my TV which allows USB devices -- and my TV runs WebOS. The device doesn't care what it's hooked up to because the internal fingerprint software communicates directly with the hardware fingerprint scanner. Until you unlock the drive with your fingerprint the device appears only as a small partition with software on it -- once unlocked the drive registers as a 2TB drive and you can see your files.

I have used mine for almost 5 years and through 2 laptops continuously connected as my mission critical external drive for my most important and expensive information and it is still going strong! I cant believe how reliable it has been. I havent dropped it or used whatever the "Touch" capability is. It does occasionally get a bit warm but not blazing hot. I worry about the day it gives out so I have other external backup drives laying around. However, this just drive doesnt stop impressing me.

I plugged it in to my computes and NOTHING. I thought it was DOA…. It was the cables. The cables provided are junk. They just didn’t work at all. I tried using a cable I had from another drive I had and VIOLA! It worked. As for the function of the drive; It seems fast and I like the security feature. The compact size is great. I’ve loaded a ton of video footage on it and I’m surprised at how fast the drive is. I linked to the drive as a file source as I was editing videos and it worked well. I’ve done this with other drives in the past and they’re very laggy and can crash. I have yet to log any serious time with this but so far so good. Only one minor incident… it disappeared from my computer directory once. Had to unplug it and plug it in again to get it back. Works fine between my windows desktop and my ipad. Just what I need. Hope it holds up, we’ll see.

Slick fingerprint and password security software that installs from the drive for Windows, Android, and Mac. Fingerprint recognition is solid. Drive is small 3 1/4 x 2 1/8 x 3/16 inch. Comes with both USB C to USB C and USB A to USB C cables. Drive doesn't seem to get overly hot when in use. Price has come down on the 2 TB drives to where it is the best price point.

TOP SSD! I’ve done a lot of research and came to conclusion that this is best you can find, especially for this price. Paid around £190 and confident this will last for many years.. Durable, stylish and very compact :))

I have many Samsung SSDs, I purchased this one in particular for fingerprint security feature. I find that it works very well and is a great product. I highly recommend this product.

Gestern in Betrieb genommen und erstmal getestet ob alle Bits und Bytes vorhanden sind. Alles wie erwartet und okay. Dann habe ich mal einen Speedtest laufen lassen. An die angepriesenen "bis zu 1050MB/s" bin ich bei weitem nicht rangekommen. Auf diese theoretischen ins Blaue reinfantasierten Laborwerte sollte man sich nicht versteifen. Die Raelität sieht in Wirklichkeit (;-)) anders aus. Ich hatte das T7 Touch an einen Desktop-PC mit eingebauter USB3.0-Addon-Karte getestet. USB3 war also verfügbar, aber eben nicht USB3.2. Wer das hat kann ja mal seine Ergebnisse posten.
