The ancient teachings of Yoga are simple yet profound. It is the aim of this wonderful, little book to restore that profound simplicity to the modern Yoga world. The emphasis is on intelligent focus and effort, not esoteric techniques. Action, wisdom and letting go, this is the Yoga path. There's a particularly nice chapter (= reminder) on positive transformation versus simply feeling good from your Yoga practice. Many practical suggestions are offered such as using mantra as your inner help line. The book is well written: clear, direct, and lively. It is filled with common sense and is wise and authoritative, as you would expect from A.G. Mohan, long time student of Sri T. Krishnamacharya. Just as when Mohan teaches there are many jokes along the way to both illustrate and lighten the reflections. A. G. Mohan is ably assisted in the writing by his son Dr. Ganesh Mohan. Together they have written a gem.

I ordered this book a few weeks ago and have read it twice so far. I know that I'll open it often as a reference and a "reminder"The beauty of this book is the way A.G Mohan, assisted by his son Dr Ganesh Mohan, have made complex ideas accessible to every reader. This can only happen when the author has clear and thorough knowledge of the subject. There is no doubt that we, as readers, benefit immeasurably from the author's lifetime of study and practice. I thank the authors for presenting this material with lighthearted stories and drawings, de-mystifying yoga philosophy, and making the point clear that a personal yoga practice offers us a path to living our life with lightness, balance, and clarity.

This book could easily be a go-to "users manual" for anyone wanting more peace of mind. With humor and light-hearted language, A.G. Mohan deftly helps us reconsider the fundamentals of our humanness, especially the basic wiring the human mind. His book gives insight as to how we clog up our own minds and interfere with its natural functioning. There is a logical rational explanation for why caring for our mind is important to more steady ease and calm in our lives. For the sincere and savvy yoga practitioner, this book translates the yoga of thousands of years into clear, straightforward language and sheds light on one of the often forgotten and misunderstood aspects of the modern-day yoga -- the Mind.

"Worth it's weight in gold"!!
take a closer look at this quietly unassuming , slim volume and you will hear it roar. This is a welcome stand out in the ever growing & crowded arena of yoga publications. AG Mohan who studied almost 2 decades with T. Krishnamacharya writes with an uncompromising, authoritative yet sincere tone and answers the questions you didn't even know you had!A "must-have" for every teacher & aspiring student - this book will "RE-BOOT" your practice and "REFRESH" your knowledge & understanding. "Yoga Reminder" REMINDS us all of what yoga always was & what it is still meant to be.Colleen KernsNY,NY

A gem!
If you are going to buy another Yoga book, make it this one. A book that is excellent for both teachers and students, it is straightforward and pithy on a topic that many make too esoteric and obtuse. As A.G. Mohan himself says:"be clear. get real." It is a valuable resource that will keep one focused and grounded on a lifelong journey of Yoga. And dare I say it, REAL yoga.
